Former Employee – worked at TD Ameritrade full-time for more than a year
Pros – They pay for you to get your license, USED to be a good place to work, decent pay if you work your butt off (and I mean close to a thousand hours of OT and hit the top performance awards)
Cons – Treat people fairly- they like to pick favorites, There is no such thing as a "promotion" every job besides sales is a lateral move and if you start on any shift other than 1st you will be getting a pay decrease when you move. They have introduced LEAN in the last year, though do not know how to operate with it, they have made alot of the employees mad and lost alot of people
Advice to Senior Management – Be there... It would be nice if you could ever find a manager when you needed one. Quit asking for more, and taking away the tools to get more. Also if your going to preach your values, live by them.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at TD Ameritrade full-time for more than a year
Pros – Excellent Base Salary and potential for quarterly bonuses
get a book of existing clients to call on
Cons – "churn and burn" - quick trigger-finger to fire Investment Consultants if they are unlucky enough to experience two consecutive quarters under sales targets.
Advice to Senior Management – treat Investment Consultants with more respect, not just a liability on the balance sheet

Advice to Senior Management – Not everyone are built for cold calling. Less micro management and more training will help to grow associates and decrease the overall turnover.

Former Employee – worked at TD Ameritrade as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Collaborative colleagues, very open atmosphere & environment, a company with very strong technological grounds and applications for financial services (for those wanting to get into technology). Overall, a phenomenal place to work in if you are looking to get into finance and technology.
Cons – Getting software on your machine can be a LONG wait some times given the security protocols put in place, but who would not find that in any corporate work place.
