    Pros

Great Atmosphere Always room for growth and improvement Employees were never overlooked

    Cons

Some upper level management individuals were not as welcoming

    Advice to Management

Management like team leaders were always welcome to hear ways to improve and they treated employees with respect and kindness. Some upper level management individuals were not as nice as team leaders/managers.

    Pros

A good start for career. Great people to work with, I have made some friends there. Learned Project Management, process improvement. Some of my bosses are very professional, have very good communication skills and management style. I have learned a lot from them.

    Cons

Off course, a lot of politics. Organization changes are too often. I had 4 bosses in 2 years. Promotion is not depends on your ability. If your boss does not like you, you will have a hard time. The company hired a lot of off shore people. Sometimes, management team do not respect the people enough. Also, it is very difficult to change the role as a contractor. TD has rules cannot hire contractors for over 2 year, cannot apply for other contractor job within TD. Salary is lower than market.

    Advice to Management

Please respect people who dedicate time and effort to finish the work. Not just saying, but showing, such as improve salary for non-management team.

I have been working at TD Bank part-time

    Pros

Great training program. The team is really supportive and are always there to help out. Overall a fantastic working environment

    Cons

If you're not used to dealing with long lines of customers, then this job is likely not fit for you

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do because TD has the best training out of all the banks and clearly management is doing something right

    Pros

Good company, good people. Great culture - can work from home in most parts of TDCT. Respectful, courteous.

    Cons

Lack of communication across levels. Lots of folks doing minimal work. Large organization so lots of inefficiency. Culture varies across business units in the organization (e.g. TDCT vs td securities)

    Advice to Management

Share more with your staff. One speaks of empowering, but then when decisions need to be made, empowerment goes out of the window. Cut down on the meetings and increase overall efficiency.

    Pros

They are very flexible with hours especially for students. If you put in the work and are looking for a promotion, you'll most likely get it. Very team-oriented environment, if you need help just ask. This company really prides itself on providing great customer service and it is no wonder they are one of the top leading banks in Toronto.

    Cons

It is extremely difficult to get out of retail banking in TD if you start there. For instance, you want to go to Insurance, Wealth, HR .. there is a lot of competition and from my experience a lot of people that start in retail end up staying in retail. They just move up in the ranks in retail banking, csr, fsr, fa, mcs, bm. This isn't necessarily bad but to get to a branch manager typically takes about 10 years.
