Pros
Flexible hours

Some people don't carry their weight

Advice to Senior Management
TMAP was an excellent concept but it's being executed horribly. It's going to take a very long time to recover from this misstep by Joe Monk.
Pros
Balancing work with home is great
Cons
No vision and no information shared
Advice to Senior Management
Have proper induction programme
Pros
Having worked at other financial institutions, I find TD has the best work-place culture which is impressive considering it's size. People are treated with respect. HR is real there. Opportunities for advancement are plenty. Most are not over-worked as the right amount of people are hired to get things done.
Cons
A little bit cliquey. Many promotions are based on who you know rather than what you do which isn't a good thing. Knowledge level becomes limited to few key individuals as a result. A little concerned with the impending departure of Ed Clark and how corporate culture might change after he retires and new mgmt takes hold.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote based on knowledge + management skills and not just on politics alone. Doing otherwise will slowly erode the company.
Pros
Great career opportunities
Supportive Leadership
Good working environment with great employees
Everyone is treated with respect and they are taken seriously
Cons
One downside of working at TD is that some branches are open Sunday and it can really impede on social life and school work.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep on doing what you are doing to make TD one of the most respected and strongest banks in North America
Pros
Very Friendly Enviroment. Encourage Diversity
Cons
Some leaders Micro manage have cartel mentality
Advice to Senior Management
Check on Middle managment to see if people are treated fairly
Pros
Diversity, Fast pace, dynamic, opportunities for advancement, education
Cons
Working beyond core hours, very busy..
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
* Good benefits.
* Interesting work. Lots of opportunity to help out and make a difference in customers' financial lives.
* Fast paced.
Cons
I think some of the other overly positive posts on here are fake ones from TD's HR department or something...
* Very heavy sales pressure and often unrealistic goals.
* Work in an environment where I feel like a telemarketer.
* Low pay.
* Heavy work load.
* Bad hours; Saturday and Sunday openings.
* Company encourages a robot like atmosphere where any signs of non-agreement or suggestions of working another way are certainly not welcome.
Advice to Senior Management
Internally develop your people. Managers are not inclined or encouraged to develop their staff to become better so that they can move on and be promoted - primarily because the managers are too worried that they're going to have to find someone else to replace any promoted employees.
Pros
Best Corporate Culture in its peers.
Cons
Potential promotion opportunities may take longer time.
Pros
Culture, Knowledge sharing, Management investing in employees
Cons
Little work life balance, but working to improve
Pros
The compensation package comprising of an employee savings plan, earned semi annual bonus, base pay, and health and benefits are decent.
Cons
Turnover in Management and other Senior personnel is significant. New inexperienced Managers are appointed to already well performing branches because previous managers get promoted. New managers equals new culture, which means there will be growing pains. If you have been working under a particular manager and that manager has moved on and not taken you with them, you will need to pay dues to new manager before being considered for promotion. It gets repetitive and frustrating.
Advice to Senior Management
Create an internal Management in Training program. Concentrate on talent within the company rather than hire inexperienced undergrads/MBA's externally.
