    Pros

Great paid time off allowance, annual bonus, good products, friendly atmosphere, nice branch interiors, better hours than standard retail, some availability for promotion.

    Cons

Poor health/dental benefits package, difficulty with branch employee scheduling, poor annual raises with good reviews, understaffed, difficult conversion during the bank merger.

    Advice to Management

I no longer work for TD, but have friends and family that continue to be employed there. The largest complaint I hear from them is the annual raises given for excellect reviews (2%????). A CSR making $14/hour would receive a 2% raise of $0.28/hour - that would mean for a 40 hour work week, that employee would receive an additional $7.84/week after taxes. I would recommend at least a 4% raise for the employees, especially if the annual bonus is removed due to new sales goal conditions. The economy is down, but TD shares have risen nearly $20/share over the past few months - signs TD is doing well. It would be good to share that success with the employees, especially who appreciate a proper annual raise more than the pizza and ice cream during employee appreciation week.

    Pros

In the mid level there are many competent good people.

    Cons

TD Commerce Bank is staffed with incompetent and unmotivated people at the lower levels/ranks. Errors and mistakes are common. Understaffed. No resources. Super cheap employer, people work with 14" old notebook computers, constant computer craches, lousy systems. Management heavy. Too many useless managers at the high level who only increase bureaucracy and bureaucratic processes and do not contribute to anything, just parasites. Overbureaucratized organization.

    Advice to Management

Fire most of the senior executives and do not rehire any!!! Reduce fat. Hire more troops at the low level. Keep and reward the competent mid level people.

    Pros

Great corporate culture. It is extremely easy to sell the company to customers. The work atmosphere is often fun and low-stress. Great schedule to work with for college-students and those looking for a second job.

    Cons

There isn't always great communication between upper/mid-management and employees. Sometimes there is a lack of a meritocracy and promises are not kept. Some decisions lack fairness.

    Advice to Management

Management should take the time to evaluate its internal practices as it relates to current employees. There is some resentment that is not being responded to and Summer 2009 may see a high number of quality employees seeking employment elsewhere.

    Pros

    - Great advancement opportunities
    - Great mangers, supervisors, and team leaders
    - Great working environment
    - Co-workers are extremely nice

    Cons

The only con I have about the job are the customers. However, this is a very big con, because your job is dealing with the customers. The customers are extremely rude and mean!

    Advice to Management

I understand that great customer service is important, but I don't think that its fair that customers can call in acting rude and scream at employees.

NIce Work enviroment. Generally nice People. Good benefits and generous 401k. Easy to make a career out of it if you want to. Proffessional work enviroment. New technology. The company is growing at a rapid pace.

    Cons

Employee pay. Managment and up are paid well. Below, grocery store levels. For the work expected or branch personel, pay is lacking.

    Advice to Management

Recognize hard work and excellenece. Not promoting the person who comes to work late every day and never meets their goals.

    Pros

Overall, the Bank is a fun place to work.most days you can go to work and have a good time. The hours are flexable and can be worked to fit your schedule pretty easily as long as you are willing to work at least some nights and weekends.

    Cons

The system for advancing in your career at the bank is lacking at best. They have a program called CASH that is supposed to train you to move up. But, while the classes are great, once you finish the program and get certified for your given position the reality becomes that you end up being responsible for the work of the new position without the pay or promotion to back it up. Add to that that the feedback from your regional managers as to what you need to do to get promoted is non-existant.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your CASH program participants don't feel lost in the shuffle. At the very least communicate with them as to any hold-ups with regards to their promotions, either because of the need for further development or the lack of availabe positions.

    Pros

Flexible Work Schedule. Management is good about the ability to schedule family events as long as you do so ahead of time. You work in a back office and do not have to talk to customers (usually).

    Cons

No opportunity to advance. The work can get rather boring.

They keep giving younger people the chance to become industry certified when I have specifically asked to take the test.

    Advice to Management

    Get everyone industry certified.

    Pros

If you have the right people backing you up then you can move up in the company fairly quickly. Can make a good amount of money in the industry but of course have to know the right person. The hours are flexible and if you are still in school it is a great way to get a decent name on your resume. You can meet pretty interesting people and network. It is a wonderful way to get your foot in the door if you are willing to do a bit of sucking up to. Great job for moms and students.

    Cons

Where do I begin....they treat you like a slave. Pay is mediocre for the amount of hours. They don't explain procedures properly and then expect you to know what you are doing. They bend the rules for whom they please and screw others over. They quality of life, that an employee that works in the branch lives is horrible. They expect you to kiss the customers butts while they treat you like crap. When you finally go out of your way to help someone nobody, not even the manager appreciates it. They have extremely stupid rules that make more work for you and inconveniences the customer unlike what their motto.

    Advice to Management

Better training management. Provide more feedback and proper procedure explanation. Encouragement of all employees not just a select few. Hire more professional staff.

    Pros

Easy to relocate, convenient locations and training classes provided. Employee appreciation (verbal-most of the time) and interaction is encouraged. Supports education.

    Cons

Salary on the low end when compared to others in similar industries.

    Advice to Management

Increase communication and a more competitive salary would decrease turnovers.

    Pros

You can feel proud to work for such a high growth bank. The people are friendly. Everyday is different. Good customer service is the main focus and not meeting quotas (at least not yet). As a CSR information is always available. The WAG is helpful. Compared to other banks TD Commerce Bank will offer more in compensation than Chase, NorthFork/Capital One, Bank of America, and all local midsize banks. I don't know the fate of MR C but it was nice to have him around. I trust Penny Arcade will stick around. And maybe Mr C will go Green. Good bye old Commerce.

    Cons

It is difficult to move up in the company. There compensation is better than other banks but gives low raises. Their % raise increase is a mere 4% which is standard for a big company like Commerce. They don't offer Bonus's or salary to small time workers. Overtime is managed so it is difficult for those who want to make more $. The worst part of the job is GREETING. Oh how much i hated to greet. Yes it helps the customer find its way to the line and sit to wait for Customer service than to run up to them.

    Advice to Management

You a check and balance of power on supervisors.
