Pros
Reasonable working hours. There are crunch projects from time to time. But overall reasonable.
Good diversification in term of ethnicity , gender, ...etc.
Cons
Limited opportunity for fast track career advancement.
Limited exposure to different aspects of the business.
Like any other bank, lots of politics.
Pros
Good culture and great people alot of fun to work here
Cons
Alot of inefficiencies, middle mgmt lacks vision and know how
Advice to Senior Management
focus on building a sustainable solutions as apposed to keeping the lights running
Pros
Smart people. Lots of resources. Work on big and interesting transactions with premiere corporations in Canada. Given lots of responsibility and plenty of face time with clients.
Cons
Competitive environment, but you can expect that at every ibank. Getting called into work when you are scheduled for vacation.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to at least attempt to foster a more congenial work environment.
Pros
Good Benefit and decent salary
Cons
Politics, other people slacking but get greater compensation

3. employees are usually treated fairly
4. good benefit for employees
Cons
1. maybe slow career growth within the firm as the turnover is typically low
2. the overall firm is kinda conservative
Advice to Senior Management
1. act a bit more aggressively on major business decisions
2. well compensate and recognize talented employees
3. compensate and promote employees based on performance, not on years of experience
Pros
(Depends on which department you work in)
Decent salary and benefits.
Looks great on the resume (more now as they ramp up in US).
Even as a junior, you can get a lot of responsibilities which helps your career immensely.
Great work life balance.
Cons
Extremely extremely conservative bank. Emphasis on risk management is great but some of the risk policies are downright ridiculous.
Very poor IT infrastructure (for example they still use windows 2000). Lackadaisical attitude of back office. Things get done but take time.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in technology and ramp up the systems.
Pros
Very professional and have very technical competent employees.
Cons
contract workers refusal to share information
Advice to Senior Management
offer longer contracts than 2 years
Pros
More exposure to the new products
More opportunity to advance the career
People are nice, feel respectable
More opportunity for continuing education
Cons
Need more life balance arrangements
Need more feedback from the senior management
The benefits for the medical, insurance, dental and vision care are not that good
Advice to Senior Management
Most senior managers, especially my boss, is very nice and care about my career development, overall the environment are very friendly. However, sometime more consideration on life-time balance should be considered
Pros
Because the compensation is way too low when compare to the market average, management could only hire people who has no/little experience on the subject and ask them to learn. It provides a great learning environment if the individual is a self learner and will become a valuable asset for other banks.
Cons
Compensation is terrible for people working directly on trading application.
Work is highly stressful and challenging as the technology solution team will support front office operation, but getting back office salary pay.
Very high turnover on the trading application team and seems like senior management or HR does not want to do anything to it.
Spent a lot of money to hire external consultant to do something that should really be done internal. This is because external consultant has a steep learning curve of understanding the infrastructure system in the trading application side. A lot of those millions that pay to the external consultant could really be done by a few full time employee in a few months (cost in unit of 100 thousands) if we could retain qualified employee by paying them the market average salary.
Advice to Senior Management
Should investigate the compensation structure for the technology solution team to reduce turnover.
The firm strategy is to move all the software development from front office to the technology solution team. This could not be accomplished without reviewing the compensation structure to retain good employee
Pros
Technology wise it's pretty up there.
Experience at TD will depend on your manager..just hope you get one that's experienced and level headed.
Cons
Monotony of work, lack of respect from snr mgt , politics, politics politics and did i 4get more freaking politics...but im not bitter ..disappointed by senior management.
No work life balance, they could work you to the bone but don't expect much in return
Advice to Senior Management
Practice good code of conduct!
Learn how to be politically correct
Educate yourselves on the principles of management
