I have been working at TDC (Denmark) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Products and employees are among best in the country. There is a foundation for growing the business if management has the courage. Very knowledgeable and loyal employees in every department.

    Cons

Poor management decisions result in poor and very short sighted performance. Focus on shareholders (short term) and very little focus on customers who have an increasing number of alternatives.

    Advice to Management

Find some courage to take the company to the next level and stop focusing on a 3-month time horizon. Many in the existing management will have trouble executing this - find some new people to do this - not consultants.

    Pros

Working at TDC requires a proactive approach due to the level of competition and the industry. TDC allows for creative thinking to deal with the issues.

    Cons

A diverse portfolio of services that are not entirely related. Makes it difficult to develop a strategy for TDC. However, this strategy has been succesful for TDC so far.

    Advice to Management

Take advantage of the leader position and do not be reactive towards the competition. Take advantage of economies of scale and economies of scope.
