    Pros

TE has very deep pockets, which means if you need something to launch a project the cash is available they tend not to cut corners. Can be very proactive when addressing molding issues, can be supportive when dealing with customers as they have enough size and clout to push back if needed. Very good supporting Dept.'s some of the best tooling and maint. rescores I have had available (internally) Good benefits Good salary Good bonuses, when the sales are good. In addition to the structured bonuses they have performance bonuses (spot bonus, & Impact bonuses) the latter can be very lucrative. Large company lots of opportunity, travel, can be very exciting and fun as long as you can deal with the aggressive project time lines

    Cons

Of course it is Automotive so the company is very sensitive to swings in the economy. Can have some favoritism as plants and people have been consolidated or reorganized Can be stressful if you don't keep things in perspective and roll with the flow. Because the company employ's over 75,000 folks HR tends to be a little inhuman at times

    Advice to Management

With long term mangers are moved about you may want to break up the clichés, some employees were put into positions that they were not best suited for only because they would have lost their job due to restructuring. This at times caused their suburbanites some frustration as they would figure out very quickly their supervisor was unqualified to lead and or train them. I do think the cases that I saw in Automotive were addressed eventually. HR tends to be very impersonal at times, I think having a dedicated HR generalist per site would be nice as opposed to one shared by multiple facilities.

    Pros

    Good salary. Good People

    Cons

TE management suffers from the same ailments that Tyco International had that being one business approach fits all. It seems they are so full of themselves in their approach they fail to recognize the elements of the businesses that will make them successful. Even when they fail they are quick to focus the blame on the organizations as opposed to focusing it on themselves and their strategies.

    Advice to Management

Read the book Good to Great. Learn what a level 5 leader is.

TE is always buying and selling off groups. It is easy to get caught up in the changes completely outside your control.

    Pros

Great team of people around me who care about the work they do.

    Cons

Wages are stagnant and yearly bonus does not mirror the companies financial success.

    Advice to Management

Wages increases and bonuses need to match up to a stock price that continues to soar and the record profits the company is experiencing.

    Pros

The money is decent I guess.

    Cons

It is beyond quiet, and everyone just sits at their desk (eats lunch, breakfast, etc at their desk). Yeah I get the whole "you're there to work" comment, but you have to have a very dull personality to want to sit there all day and just stare at a computer screen.

    Advice to Management

    No advice. Nothing will change.

    Pros

Good benefits, Middle Management could be better trained, excellet facility ad equipment to work with, Top level technical personnel are always willing to mentor junior engineers & technicials.

    Cons

Getting past the senior engineer level to a pricipal position is a road block due to internal politics.

    Advice to Management

Consider opening the gate to principal engineer to better standardized terms.
