    Pros

Dedicated, hard working people. They are honest in their dealings with you. They look out for you and starting working on new positions 45 days prior to the end of your current contract. They keep you informed as to your status.

    Cons

They promised more than they could deliver in terms of new opportunities. They assured me that a future contract was a "done deal". Yet, when the time came, they did not have a new assignment for me. While this may have been out of their control, they would have been better off being a bit more realistic as to what they could deliver.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring good folks to work there. The ones I had dealings with were all hard-working, dedicated people. Those are the kinds of individuals that will make you successful in the long run.

    Pros

TEK gives its internal employees a great "opportunity" to make a hard earned small fortune with minimal or no industry background. Its size and reach are unmatched and its names carries weight with Customers and technical professional alike across the country. Culture is second to none and internally you will bond with office mates and become close. TEK has unmatched career opportunities and gives you the chance to create new paths almost on a daily basis if you can create the need and value in it.

    Cons

Starting salary has become noncompetitive in the market . TEK has a tendency to hide behind the idea of "opportunity" and this can create dissatisfaction and frustration across the newer employee core. Work life balance although improved in recent years can be a strain on home and outside personal relationships.

    Advice to Management

Re-invest in your current employees and take a greater attention to retention rather than hiring just to hire in droves. Salary and compensation will go along way in keeping young talent in the door and preventing a talent void that the organization is heading towards.

    Pros

The pay was fair and most rep were fair and easy to get along with. Pretty much paid on time.

    Cons

As I said they reps were fine but their next level up was bad. Did not care to help you! Wanted a different job but as long as I was making them money they never found me one!

    Advice to Management

Start listening. Try harder in working to get your contractors the job they want! Straighten out your second level managers!

    Pros

    - You can make great, life-long friends internally and with consultants - Company sponsored meals and happy hours internally and externally (as long as its IT or can bring value to TEK) - Best sales/real world training of most organizations - Great place for someone fresh out of school to learn how to become a young professional and how to navigate corporate/office politics. (TEKsystems is like real-world career boot camp. You make it two years and you can leave TEK, go anywhere you want and get a great salary.)

    Cons

TEKsystems 10 years ago Im sure was an amazing place to be with its $30k base salary and amazing commission structure, bonuses and stock options. TEKsystems, 2015 has severely fallen behind its competitors in terms of compensation, no longer offers stock options and has reduced its commission plan in the 3 years I had been there. Work/life balance is non existent. You are expected to be in the office everyday from 7:30pm-6:00pm and don't even expect to leave "early" (anytime between 5:00pm-6:00pm) without getting an earfull of it the next day from multiple managers. 55-60hr work weeks. Lots of mind games played by very high tenured account managers. Hunger Games-like competition when it comes to identifying the scraps of over fished candidate markets. Huge income and tenure gap between new recruiters and Sr. Account Managers (1 -3 year recruiter = $35k-55k to 10+ year recruiter = $300k+) Due to such high turnover amongst recruiters and Account Managers, many clients are not as willing to do business with TEKsystems. Your home office market dictates your success more than your own personal effort. Your personal effort is never good enough. Due to the nature of the business and commission structure, you're only paid 100% commission if your consultants all work a full 40hr week (which rarely happens). You're expected to attend every TEK internal event (e.g. - happy hour) and if not, you're deemed a "non culture fit." Management will constantly dangle the "income earning potential" carrot in your face to get you to continue to work long hours, but don't be fooled. With just 2 years of TEKsystems experience, other companies with fight over you. You literally can leave TEKsystems after 2 years and walk in the door elsewhere at $70k or more salary.

    Advice to Management

    - Raise your salary and commission ($30k is a joke in 2015) - Make any work hours after 5pm optional - Reduce in-office politics and mind games - Stop burning out your recruiters and account managers

    Pros

They are very motivated to find you promptly your next assignment when the current assignment with a client is approaching the end. They stay in touch with your reporting manager at the client site to ensure your assignment gets extended as long as possible. They also have a principal consultant program, which allows the consultants to earn a ~$1,000 premium for each new TEKsystem consultant you help them get hired at the same client, after that new consultant has worked at the client place for more than 90 days.

    Cons

You don't get almost any benefits. I worked for TEKsystems for 4 years, on various back-to-back assignments with different companies, and all the benefits I got was that they were paying me for 5 Holiday days per year (no vacation time), in spite of the significant percentage they were getting from the client for each hour I worked at the client site.

    Advice to Management

Offer benefit packages. If you have a consultant that won an assignment at various clients where you sent them for an interview, and spent a few years bringing you income from clients - recognize them as a value to your company and offer additional benefits so that you lose them. The job market is good, and consultants do not have to stay working for you, especially if they don't see that you value them - by offering vacation time, bonuses etc.

    Pros

Responsive recruiter. They are attentive to their consultants.

    Cons

For the contracts I was on with their Global Services division the pay was dreadful. Well below any industry standard. Led to high attrition, poor hiring decisions and managers who would lie about there being opportunity and more pay and better jobs to keep people in their seats.

    Advice to Management

Pay your consultants at least to industry standards, stop lying, be honest about the reality of the work.
