I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

They don't just drop you off with the client, they are active with the client. In my last contract, TEK systems also handled the on-boarding process. Often, they would call or visit you at the job site.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor (more than 5 years)

    Pros

They've made a very complex business much simpler than anyone else I've worked for. I've worked twenty two contracts over the years, fifteen for Tek Systems and their parent Aerotex. They are my first choice.

    Cons

I am just one of many techs and so don't get calls I think I rate because of my longevity with them and the happy clients I've left behind.

It's always hard to find a permanent position with this great company. I hope if I get employed by Tek Systems it would be in a five years contract or a permanent position.

I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

The company does a second to none job of training their recruiters.

    Cons

TEKsystem's may talk about work life balance, but it doesn't exist. They also "value" you as an internal employee while you are there, but the moment you leave, you are cut off from communication and they will come after you with letters from their lawyers about breaching non compete contracts. There are so many lawsuits to be found online. After talking to many former TEK employees, everyone said the same thing. They received a warning letter. Turnover is high and by creating this "fear" and general non compete contracts, I would be very careful when you leave.

I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

You work with really cool people. It's great place to get initial "real world experience" as a lot of what you do builds a transferable skill set

    Cons

The work life balance is not good. 10 hour days (including 1 hour lunch) are more common than not common. To compound this frustration processes frequently do not work as they should and the way the work space is structured it is very easy for a co-worker/some one on your team to distract you from what your doing with work related and non work related communication. The last two points make the first even more frustrating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It should not be the "culture" that if you leave after being there for 9 hours that you are a "Part-Timer
" or have a perception of not working hard especially given the fact the salaried employees are not paid overtime. There also needs to be serious consideration of stepping up compensation as we are paid below industry average.
