I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

    I get paid on time

    Cons

Gap in what resources get paid, verses what the customer pays for your position is not fair to the resource, and well beyond recruiting industry standard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of the resources that bring in your paycheck both with salary and support.

I worked at TEKsystems full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The amount of work you put in will correlate to how much money you make but it takes a long long time for that to happen. If you are doing well, you will be liked within the office. I grew a lot as a professional, gained confidence, and learned how to sell.

    Cons

There is no work life balance- your work will become your life. The people you work with become your friends and family. This is not always a bad thing unless you enjoy working out, being with your actual family, and not feeling guilty about taking a vacation every once in awhile. The politics in this organization is disgusting. If you so much as breath a word of changing the way things get done, you will be reprimanded and forced to do things the corporate way. I am so glad I got out when I did because the money can sucker people in to staying with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you have a super star on your team, make sure you treat them with respect. Listen to ideas from your team- talk is cheap. This is not on the company as a whole, just the location I worked at.

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

They appear to be very professional and friendly.

    Cons

I was recruited for a job at State Farm Ins. in Bloomington, IL. I stated my position very blunt and without deception - I was looking for a very-long term position. Tek systems told me what I wanted to hear - and I bought it hook line and sinker. After I signed an apartment lease and bought furniture for it - Tek Systems tells me that State Farm was "re-structuring" their budget and it no longer included my position. Really? after only 8 weeks? I was told this was probably going to run 2 years! What a big lie! And I'm pretty sure that Tek Systems knew it was going to happen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop misrepresenting job descriptions and lying to job candidates.

    Pros

TEK is a great place to begin your career if you are looking for sales experience and to build relationships. They provide non-stop training and the people of the company make you enjoy coming to work.

    Cons

The pay/commission structure is not ideal, it is stressful and demanding, sometimes you can work as hard as possible and still not be able to make the money that is possible. Your pay depends on contract employee's working 40+ hours a week.

    I worked at TEKsystems

    Pros

Great opportunity for people close with higher up management, reimbursements for lunches, gas, etc. to meet clients

    Cons

Terrible work-life balance. If you enjoy working 12+ hours a day to make roughly $500 a week, then this is the place for you!

They say they aren't like all the other recruiting firms or "sweat shops" out there, and TEKsystems is right. They are the leader of trying to put a butt in a seat and not building a relationship with their clients!!

They only care about the commissions they get from putting someone in a job, and once they're there, nothing!!

Please work here only if this is a last resort. Avoid at all costs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at your hired talent and figure out a way to train them. Hiring a bulk of people at once just because you want more people making 80+ calls a day for you to get more numbers in for the company does not help with the personal and professional goals the company claims to strive for!
