    Good and not so good

    I worked at TEKsystems

    Pros

They have a good internal support system when you have a contract. They do try to make you happy, but they are limited to what they can provide.

    Cons

The health insurance and benefits are not very good. You take less money in return for time off. They will try to get you a new contract, but most times you will do the leg work to get a new one.

  2.

Great until the turnover was affecting the whole department negatively for 6+ months.

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great place to begin your career. Plenty of opportunity for overtime to make some extra money. A lot of opportunity to grow in a short period of time.

    Cons

Work- life balance. There is no training structure. Goals are not realistic. Base salary is low, and yearly max hourly raise is $1.00. I was a top performer on my team and only received .25 hourly raise. No communication. Sometimes push associates into management before they are ready, and then fail as managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should be more open to their teams about upcoming changes, and make realistic goals. Manage your teams Don't always be a friend. Learn how manage time properly ex. complete maintenance in a timely manner.

I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

After numerous attempts, I was able to finally schedule an interview and talk about jobs and opportunity. The interviewer seemed a bit "better than you," which made their professionalism questionable.

    Cons

From day one, communication has been terrible. Trying to get anyone on the phone or email you back is very hard. They make the big talk like they are going to help you get a job, but when it comes to delivery, they're pretty much a no show. And it makes you seem like you're buying a car from a sales person when they tell you, they need to speak to their account manager before you can progress through. That was somewhat odd.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Without the employees, your company couldn't survive. It's important to remember that. Show respect and sensitivity to people's situations. Many people are on hard times and are looking for those who are compassionate and show a genuine desire to create a fit for you in the big picture.

    I worked at TEKsystems full-time

    Pros

You can definitely come right out of college and get lucky with a few placements and make some great money. It's a good way to build your work ethic because working here is like working in the military and most companies will like that you've worked in this organization in your next job interview

    Cons

It is a cult. If you're not hanging out and getting blacked out drunk with your co workers on the weekends then you become an outsider no matter how hard you work and how well you do. They cross the line when it comes to work/life balance and they want you to build "emotionally invested" relationships with your co workers. They love to play mind games and someone is always pretending to reach out to you as a kindness but they're really just doing it to get noticed and check a box and show that they are "fitting in to the culture". 2 years at the most and then look elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people credit for their hard work even if they come in and keep their head down and are grinding it out. Not everyone wants to spend every waking second with their co workers who they see all day everyday during the work week.

I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Account managers tend to be close to clients

    Cons

As recruiters they are too slow in announcing job postings. Sometimes it takes a week for them to post or announce when other recruiters call you on the same day it is announce.

Don't understand the dynamics of contract personnel.
Don't know about consequences of mergers and acquisitions.

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

TEKsystems is a privately held company that is built around strong core values, has great people and is very goal oriented. TEKsystems has helped me grow not only as a professional but as a person and this is due to the people internally I work with and how committed everyone is to see each other become better.

    Cons

Base pay might be lower than some of our competitors but the commission and bonus potential far exceeds what the competition can offer.
