I have been working at TEKsystems

    Pros

There are no pros to working at Tek. It's just straight work with horrible pay. Sorry they suck

    Cons

Please refer to the pros of this company they are not good at all. Recruiters suck

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

They have a lot of clients and seem to always have open positions

    Cons

They lack support, both admin-wise and rep-wise, not good for their word, def losing trust in them. 7 weeks and paperwork resubmission to get direct deposit going. 6-month contract to hire, but released at 4 months because their client had a budget cut tells me they should have collected the 6-months worth of money up-front. Never any feedback during contract. Was worried about final paycheck and no one could tell me anything about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start to regain core values, which you used to have

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

The Paychecks clear, not much else, they are not invested in furthering their contractors careers, training is available, but only for active associates.

    Cons

They are a contract house, so they will absolutely hire a project manager with 15 years experience and stick them into an admin job, then bill at PM rates and pay admin. As stated in pros, there is training that is available, but only for active associates, so if you are not working a contract, you cannot access the training, so it's a rock and hard place situation. Seems short sighted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The business model seems to work for them, so not sure what to say.

Not a company for seasoned professionals

I worked at TEKsystems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They do a great job training recent college grads.

    Cons

They are too set in their ways. No grey areas. They only no how to handle and operate issues in a standardized manner. Seasoned professional sales people don't need a clicker to count calls.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote seasoned staff who know what they are doing.

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

They are no more than a foot in the door to gain experience.
    Have some high ranking clients.
Compensation is not as great as the so called market rate they claim to follow.
If you have the experience you are better off somewhere else.

    Cons

Have a website to learn a few skills, but only useful if you have the time and energy left from the work and traveling on many of the project opportunities.

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The people I work with in the office and in the field are the best thing. I meet some amazing people that make IT move to business forward and fortunate enough to help. My company is great and we truly strive to serve others in everything. We of course make a profit, but they require us to do it the right way. We are not allowed to cut corners or drop our quality process with our clients and consultants. The hours can be long, but the rewards are great and you are putting the hours in with great people that make the time go by. Compensation is good but it has to be earned.

    Cons

Some of what we do becomes overwhelming with busy work. We seem to have quite a bit of redundant task and busy work that keep us from doing what is important at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not forget that most clients buy because of the AM and we need to spend more time with them instead of in the office doing busy work. There needs to be more towards our retirement and especially benefits. Especially our consultant benefits need to be improved more than anything.

    Pros

Everyone was very helpful and nice and wanted each other to succeed. I enjoyed meeting every single one of them. Management was friendly as well.

    Cons

Small office space for such an important company a lot going on in one room with really no privacy. Long hours but are worth it.

I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

The recruiters maintain good contact with consultants and reward them free lunches every so often. They do have a good client base.

    Cons

Lack of training. Need to conduct workshops and offer training to employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up your current policy of interacting closely with consultants. Conduct workshops and upgrade people's skills so that you can market them easily.
