    Advice to ManagementAdvice

i dealt with floor managers and back room managers. When i was a manager i was always on the floor. To all managers, don't be a back room manager! your staff needs yo on the floor!

I worked at TELUS Mobility full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

TELUS is a great company to work for. There are a lot of benefits with lots of services available to their employees. They even provide tons of opportunities for the employee to grow.

    Cons

Your support team is not always the best. There are lots of false promises made with little movement. It is not as easy to move into head office unless you know some powerful people with enough pull. There also seems to be a lot of corporate politics, just like any large organization. TELUS always tries their best making it seem like if you follow through with their available opportunities that you would move up, but that is not always the case. Their benefits are the best in the Canadian telecommunications industry with the best pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of making false promises, follow through with your team members' requests. Don't leave them out in the cold. It's one thing to try and giving them lip service but it's another thing to truly act on the promises that are made.

    Pros

The work and life can be balanced very well. Flexible working hour and location. Most of time, you can work from home.

    Cons

There are some office politics. Most of the times you are not rewarded by your contribution rather than the relationship with your manager.

I have been working at TELUS Mobility part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fantastic commission, health benefits are great for part time

    Cons

Demanding hours, poor management that is supported by even poorer management, empty promises to many employees for advancement, under-educated management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When a job posting says that a University Degree is a requirement please actually appoint someone who has a degree to the position and not someone who advances their way up and then dictates because they themselves can't accept responsibility for their own actions
