Pros
It is a fast-pace environment that provides a good learning experience.
Cons
Lots of re-org throughout the organization. Off-shoring initiatives.
Pros
Great benefits, work life balance if your support allows.
Cons
Too many changes, too much focus on networking over working!
Advice to Senior Management
Pay more attention to experienced staff!
Pros
Benefits, free phone, balance days, stock options
Cons
unqualified people being promoted over qualified individuals
Advice to Senior Management
Support employees in growth
Pros
> Great Pay
> Benefits start on the first day you're enployed (while you're still in training)
> Start with 3 wks vacation and then after 3 yrs you get 4 weeks (plus 3 personal days off)
> Paid sick time
> Performance bonus
> Pension Plan
> Telus shares/stocks
> Community work
> Great deal on cell phone and rate plan
> "Points" are given as rewards when stats are met or for perfect attendance which can be redeemed in items or gift cards from various stores around canada
Cons
> Takes a very long time to get good shifts as it's based on seniority (but this comes because of a GOOD thing as it's very rare that employees leave so it takes longer for posts to become available)
Pros
stability, industry, location, etc. etc.
Cons
lack of opportunity, compensation (base salary)
Advice to Senior Management
retain top talent, compensate accordingly.
Pros
Great benefits for all employees
Cons
largely political environment. promotions are based on relationships rather than merit
Pros
the compensation for the type of work compared to other employers is more than fair and a good benefit package
Cons
It is a very political environment and centres on who you know and how many contacts you can make, abilities comes secondary
Advice to Senior Management
recognize the employees for what they are doing for your company more than you are, they are the reason for your success, the clients only remain because of the service they recieve
Pros
great co-workers
working from home is possible
pay is good compare to competition
possibility of moving up in the company
Cons
not very flexible in allotting personal time
hard to get employee feedback move up the food chain
discussion not always welcome
Advice to Senior Management
should take employee feedback more seriously as they are often on the front-line and aware sometimes of the clients needs
Pros
TELUS is flexible in allowing people to be mobile workers and working remote has a lot of personal benefits,
Cons
TELUS has clawed away benefits since it 'merged' with TELUS Mobility and reduced bonus payouts as well, In general, it has become much more bureaucratic. Expectation is that Life-Work balance is in favour of TELUS
Advice to Senior Management
Take a Pay cut and give it to the employees!
Pros
Great compensation
Lots of training provided
Depending on what department you are in, opportunities to advance
Cons
Calls are monitored and a lot of focus on metrics vs. quality
Lots of calls in the queue can cause burn out for some
Should have more opportunities for employees to use products & services
Advice to Senior Management
Company as a whole needs to focus on quality vs metrics
