    Pros

    Competitive salary
    Great benefits
    Great training and learning opportunities

    Cons

A very tough corporate environment to grow within. Lack of opportunities to move upwards. The revolving door is continuous, as there is quite a lot of employee remorse due to lack of opportunities for upward career advancement. Some co-workers were great. Others were back-stabbers who were very self centred and would do anything negative to get management recognition, even at the expense of their own fellow co-workers. Management was guilty of openly showing favouritism to employees they cared more about. Career advancement here solely depends on your manager's approval. If they didn't like or approve of your work, you're stuck wherever you are for the longest time ever, even if you requested to move to another team in a similar role. They would pretend they were satisfied with your work, but would ever recommend you for a promotion. Overall, it's a great place to start off, experience wise, but in terms of building a career, you're in for a very tough challenge ahead.

    Pros

Great pay and perks (employee phone plan, profit sharing plan).

    Cons

Sales pressure and objectives have increased significantly throughout the years. Part time employee health benefits were very good until recently; was one of the reasons that I stayed with the company for so long. Now they have hardly nothing. Over the past decade, I have felt that they have moved away from their core values from when I started out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give equal health benefits for both full time and part time workers as it was before.

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee in Montreal, QC (Canada)

    Pros

TELUS has one of the smarter culture and values on paper. Great benefits except salaries are just standard.

    Cons

Management does not seem to care to apply culture and values. They are there for their own advancement and wouldnt hesitate to bully or use technicalities to get their way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink the way you promote managers as a lot of times people are put in these positions for all the wrong reasons and do not fit the role. They have a big impact on their subordinates life and health. You cant keep expecting people to produce more with less.

    Pros

Insurance started day one, 15$ a month all you can use cell phone plan, yearly upgrades on cell phones (350$ rebate off FULL retail price)

    Cons

District Managers with no telecom experience but video store leadership running the show. Managers who are trained to bully and intimidate their staff, crazy sales quotas

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come work at the stores every once in a while as a rep as listen to your clients and sales reps....then compare your findings with the store manager....everyone talks at Telus but no one listens....remember you have one mouth and two ears!! Oh and please if you are going to preach the
Telus core values please practice them too.
