    Pros

    - great boss - nice medical benefits - nice to have christmas closure

    Cons

    - R&D old and tired - IT non-existent and old school - leadership needs to lead

    Advice to Management

I recently joined THQ and unfortunate to admit a mistake. People are nice, but company is stale and negative. For a software development company very antiquated management and systems. IT non-existent, servers are from 1990's with analog phones. NEW R&D BLOOD - THQ needs a hit. What about kid games like Mario Bros? Something beyond wrestling. Good luck!

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

My company has a great working environment with lots of fantastic colleagues, decent benefits, rewarding in and of itself work, with some perks.

    Cons

My company doesn't seem to believe in hiring from within, and the few that have been elevated were promptly laid off despite good reviews and performance.

    Advice to Management

There is lots of talent within the company, but they are overworked with not very much support. We make titles for a third of what the competition does and it shows.

    Pros

Friendly people w/ great attitudes - great cafeteria and numerous hours that will help get you plenty of money. Decent parking.

    Cons

Too many hours, bug quota got a little tiring. People expected too much out of you. That's about it.

    Pros

Great atmosphere, good benefits, and top levels of management are approachable. Opportunity to work on a variety of projects, and see your improvements implemented. The industry is growing, and you'll learn some valuable skills that can be transferred elsewhere.

    Cons

Staff level pay is below average for the field, and there is not much of a formal career path. Promotions seem arbitrary, and there are too many Manager to Director level people who seem to do little except delegate everything to the staff. I've seen very talented employees stuck in the same roles because they're needed to run day-to-day operations. Lesser employees are promoted to supervise. THQ is a wonderful place to work day-to-day, just year-on-year seems like a dead end.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at the middle management structure of Associate Managers, Managers, Senior Managers, and Directors. Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. A good number of managers don't even have any direct reports.

    Pros

    Environment, easy going, and benefits.

    Cons

I had a horrible supervisor. Some positions were promoted with so many questions. No valid reasons for the people being layed off.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your supervisors are actually working and just friends of the head honcho's.
