Current Employee – been working at TIAA-CREF
Pros – awesome benefits like time off and unparalleled retirement contributions
Cons – Some areas are great to work in, but others are not. Compared to other companies I've worked for, TIAA is good, but not the best.
Advice to Senior Management – Ask questions and listen. Don't assume you know what people are thinking and feeling.

Former Employee – worked at TIAA-CREF
Pros – My manager was personally interested in the success of his team.
Cons – The corporate culture is struggling to change and has an assembly line mentality. Longevity within the organization is the only thing given credibility in the workplace. New employees (less than 5 years) are largely ignored, and constantly told by all levels of management that they need to be around longer in order to "understand" how things work in the company.

Current Employee – been working at TIAA-CREF
Pros – Good people with good skills at the worker level. Some of the senior leadership was good. Decent pay and benefits
Cons – Frequent and dramatic leadership/direction changes. The best leaders are quickly discovered and subsequently overwhelmed with work to the point where they cannot be successful
Advice to Senior Management – Pick an IT organizational strategy and see it through. Constant change is to be expected to some degree, but when it rises to a level that people are constantly in fear of their jobs it becomes a distraction that hampers performance. Recognize that you are overwhelming good leaders and either forcing them to leave or putting them in position where they cannot meet expectations.

Current Employee – been working at TIAA-CREF
Pros – A good training program, everyone there is very willing to help their coworkers. For the most part we have friendly participants.
Cons – Slow systems to work on. Taking PTO during holidays is a struggle. Some of the training is a bit overkill,
Advice to Senior Management – Please update our systems. The company wants us to reduce our average talk time when they give us agonizing slow programs to work on.
