    Pros

    - if you are willing to take some chances, get off the porch and run with the big dogs, you can do that here. Risk takers and hard workers thrive. The meek & whiners should stay home. - this company is in transition. It's less about where we've come from and more about where we're going. We've assembled a solid collection of technology, a fresh product vision, and have real value to offer customers. There is a lot of "beef in the bun". - Vista acquisition is a good thing. Their philosophy is built on the concept of deployment of best practices that have been proven to work. Yes, it is fomulaic, but that's not a bad thing if it produces proven results. Can't argue with past results. - This is not a back stabbing culture. Political intrigue is low. People just want to get the job done. - recent turnover is creating a lot of career opportunities for TIBCO employees right now. Lot's of fresh thinking being injected into the organization.

    Cons

    - the next 6-9 months are going to be a little stressful as we work our way through the Vista transition, get our product strategy and roadmaps in place, replace people who've left, stabilize organizations, and get dialed in on our marketing focus. This in normal in an acquisition. - it's not clear yet how the culture will shift as the result of going private. Some people won't like the degree of personal accountability and metrics being brought in by Vista. Personally, I think it will result in weeding out some of the less competent people. (con for them, pro for the rest of us!)

    Advice to Management

Keep focused on developing a clear, well integrated product strategy that will take us forward. Help us understand the impact that Vista best practices are actually having on company operations and performance. Make it a learning experience for as many as possible. Don't cut back or shift burden on the healthcare benefits. People really value that.

    Pros

Benefits are good. Tibco's invested products are much better then its infrastructure product.

    Cons

Week in product strategy. Management is poor in resource planning, people planning. No personal growth, unless you leave/pretend to leave. No motivation compensation/title. No motivation about your career growth. No steady revenue from existing product line, struggling a lot.

    Pros

easy to get work, the bar is very low. Don't have to do much, you can work a part-time consulting job from your TIBCO desk. Management has no idea what's going on.

    Cons

Everyone good has left the organization, so having TIBCO on your resume tells the world that you're second best.

    Advice to Management

Stay as long as possible at TIBCO, save the rest of the world from your poor management talents.

    Pros

The technologies, and the great minds that designed them, are still around after the acquisition. The acquisition and changes in engineering management have brought a welcome focus. One of TIBCO's known strength, its field forces, is motivated by the next big things the company is working on right now. And a more recent addition to the TIBCO mix is Marketing. The marketing team has been asked by Vista and the top executives to build a leading marketing organization. This is currently at play and quite interesting to be involved in. Data-driven decisions, collaboration and processes, constant testing and benchmarking are becoming the rule at TIBCO Marketing.

    Cons

The company culture has always been about hard work, and the company has always been rewarding. The transformation at play, and the size of the opportunity, requires everyone to be 100% committed. Some will love it, some will not.

    Advice to Management

Keep on engaging with customers. Keep on communicating with employees. Keep on investing in Marketing. Keep on adding structure and processes to realize the company and its assets (people and technology) company.

    Pros

They have a great product line. In the US, they have quite interesting field work and the managers are nice. Flexible leave schedule. Nice commission structure for those in field.

    Cons

The company used to have a great work culture which exists no more. The last few years have been rather difficult. Esp those coming from India to the US but still controlled by Indian managers - They never get increments, are sent here at a lower pay than US citizens. Some are even working here on L1 visa for as long as 6 months without being on US payroll. After being sent from India to the US, if one wants to go back before 2 years, they are asked to return the relocation expenses. Not sure if all this is even legal. Definitely not worth working here any more.

    Advice to Management

Take care of employees first, then customers.

    Pros

Allows employees room for growth and to move around between departments without prior experience. Nice people. Some good benefits. Free donuts on Fridays.

    Cons

Long hours after the acquisition as company consolidates and ones not part of layoff absorb the work of those that left. Not clear of direction.

    Advice to Management

Over communication is better than no/low communication.
