Good starting point; will trap you if you let it

    Chemical Management Technician (Former Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsThis job was clearly laid out, with procedures and expectations communicated and reinforced constantly. Pay was every Friday, which is surprisingly convenient and helpful. Vacation and sick time accrued at a reasonable rate, holidays were nice, personal protective equipment was provided.

ConsI worked in the environmental office, so there was no upward mobility. No encouragement to seek out certifications or licenses, no promotions, no raises...no reason to rise above your current level of effort, to put it bluntly.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe management seems, in my view, to lay the blame for stagnant wages at the feet of the volatile aviation industry- but a good company plans for the future, and takes care of its people, so that it can remain competitive.

    OK place to work

    A&P Mechanic (Current Employee)
    Macon, GA

ProsGood place to get some experience.

ConsPay is low, who wants to work 50+ hrs a week to make bills and live comfortably. Pay for performance, if you meet all the criteria there will still be a made up reason to not give you a raise. Get it done, visual progress attitude from company. The rules are the rules will be changed to suit management.

    Great People

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNice people, relaxed environment, good place to grow if you are willing to reach out to coworkers for guidance and assistant

ConsToo many layers of management, no pay for performance, minimal communication causing same mistakes to occur repeatedly and/or the same tasks to be performed by numerous people, working on improved training but currently there is none, sold to foreign corporation

Advice to Senior ManagementClean house with management, require accountability

Good place to work, I like it

    Structures Mechanic (Current Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsI've worked at other MROs, TIMCO has the best management and process. There is plenty of work for the future, never been at a place where you get a review every quarter and get a bonus for your performance

ConsCommunication could always be improved, TIMCO just got bought by Haeco.

    It's a lifeless, soul-sucking place to work.

    Structures Mechanic (Current Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsGreat for lazy people. They really don't care what you do or don't do. Pay is based on a predetermined scale. Put in the time, do the minimum to get by...you will get your raise...but it won't be much. No performance-based pay or regular reviews.

ConsBad for ambitious people. They really don't care what you do or don't do. Pay is based on a predetermined scale. Put in the time, do the minimum to get by...you will get your raise...but it won't be much. No performance-based pay or regular reviews.

Good place to work if you work for the right people.

    Structures Mechanic (Current Employee)
    Greensboro, NC

ProsYou can get some experience on Wide body aircraft.
if you like to work overtime, you can usually get what you need.

ConsNot all supervisors evaluate who works for them on an even scale with in the company as a whole.
Lazy people aren't dealt with properly.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to listen to your employees more. Steps have been made in the right direction, although management and leadership is failing. Try breaking up the good old boy network a little more.
