    Typical MRO....

I have been working at TIMCO Aviation

    Pros

All work is inside , a lot of hardworking and Seasoned Mechanics. Upper Management. (GM and DOM) are good at what they do..

    Cons

High turnover rate...a lot of young untrained work force. Not a lot of Money there so one leads to the other...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dump the Carriers aircraft you are working on and bid with other carriers... Two carriers want they're aircraft to be worked there...because of logistics

  6.

I have been working at TIMCO Aviation as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Working days on heavy check line.

    Cons

They have Budjeting decide what hardware they will keep in stock. Hence, when you need panel screws for the aileron actuator panels you will need to MOR them, usually toward the end of the check. not too good a deal.I hear them saying they cant afford to order parts or tooling. They don't have some of the tooling required to do the ops checks the work package calls for. They do not have a Matrix set out for how the check should progress with, no real effort to improve the process. In thing such as parts procurement or tooling scheduling. In short, the oncoheisive with all contributing diciplines. At CVG they took down the flow chart provided by GSO, I guess they dont believe it will work for them. They do not have enough support to plan any thing such as parts procurement or tooling scheduling .In Greensboro, The flow of work was a carefully orcestrated, managed and monitered function Time and therefore money is wasted throu inefficencies such as these poorly planned efforts.AT GSO, parts are n a Predraw area in the work area, as well as dedicated tooling. I have heard talk about a plan for another line here.

The only reason they are still in business here is because things get done in spite of these faults. Maybe they think Haeco will give them money to expand. I think they will look the situation over first..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Practice what you preach, when you ask for input about any tooling needs or safety issues and then dont follow up on it , it shows you don,t care. your jobs are in jepordy, nyou have to answer for your performance.you may have to re-interview for your job when Haeco comes in

I worked at TIMCO Aviation as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

The ONLY pro that I can say for this company is they allowed for upto 40 hours of overtime a week.

    Cons

Relocated for 12 month contract position from out of state just to have my contract cancelled after 2 weeks because the employee I was replacing decided to stay on their last day. No notice, no compensation, no anything. Worst of all, my contract firm (TRC Staffing) didn't try to fight for their contractor at all. Do not, I repeat DO NOT let your gaurd down with Timco or TRC Staffing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn some morals and business ethics, and have some respect for the people who relocate to work for and better the company and departments....

I worked at TIMCO Aviation full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Stable job. Low to decent pay. Like most other job, you must show them you are valuable and a great asset for them to consider paying you more. If you want to start a family and work five days a week with the somewhat the same task, this is the place for you.

    Cons

If you are one of those necessary people, you can take a vacation if you are lucky, but you will be on call.

I have been working at TIMCO Aviation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to start but move on once you get some experience.

    Cons

Promotions are given by who you know and not what you know. Management can cause damage to customer aircraft and loose hundreds of thousands of dollars due to damage and late fines but yet can continue to be employed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more proactive and not reactive. Quit telling non cert mechs to falsify documents and do undocumented maintenance.
