I have been working at TJ Maxx full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Weekly pay, great co-workers, nice customers.

    Cons

I don't mind asking for credit cards, but they also don't mind you lying to obtain one either, as in not disclosing that it is in fact a credit card they are applying for, which is unacceptable to me. When I was hired I was told to ask, but there was no quota to keep, so I would get just one a month just to keep them off my back. But then the DM was apparently sending them "nasty" emails, so they threaten to coach who ever wasn't getting any. Besides that among other things I'm pounding the pavement to find employment else where. It was great at first but its time for me to go.

I have been working at TJ Maxx

    Pros

Most people are friendly and people correct your work in a polite manner.
    Coworkers are very friendly.

    Cons

The tasks asked are so simple that you will get in for your shift and hope it is over after just about a half hour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is ok but schedules should be made at a slower pace.

I have been working at TJ Maxx full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive Pay and Benefits, Motivation on Associate Level, Job Security, Room for Growth

    Cons

Lots of seasoned employees not accepting change, long-term uneducated management that don't get reprimanded for their actions, company may be growing to fast

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognition by district and regional staff is scarce. Demanding goals are met, but not thanking when they are, only reprimanding when they aren't. Please value all your employees on every level.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Coworkers are very nice and most of the customers you encounter, flexible schedule

    Cons

Poor pay for the work you do, management needs training on relations with their employees, I do not recommend working for this company unless you have too. Everyone is unhappy there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to treat your employees with respect. Maybe once you learn how to run a business you can keep your employees from resigning.

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Friendly coworkers, flexible scheduling, some advancement opportunity within the company, always allowed me to work at breaks and holidays even when I wasn't there during school

    Cons

Very little leadership, expected to take initiative on your own, lack of direction, very understaffed all the time, management wasn't open to new ideas whatsoever, minimum wage and only does annual $.10 increase, no raises

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn more about the lower jobs before expecting unreasonable tasks, learn more about how to make the credit cards seem positive, care more about individual customers instead of customers as a whole
