    Pros

enjoy helping people as they shop and learning the retail side of the business as well as the great benefits that they offer to full time associate you get to learn how to set up merchandise that would attract the customer that come in the store to shop and its fun doing the displays

    Cons

when you are not fully train and they just put you on the floor that can cause a high overturn.you are on your feet a lot when the customers do not put items back and just lay them down there are times when the customer may not understand the policies and procedures as you are trying to explain them for example like the returns and layaway refunds

    Advice to Management

that all the management follows the same policies and that they work together as a team and they show leadership for the other employees it all begins with management that's how you get the best out of your employees they don't mind working hard as well as begin dependable you treat people how you would want to be treated staying within the polices and procedures that the company has

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time

    Pros

Not bad for an entry level job. Duties and responsibilities coordinate well with the pay scale. Flexibility with scheduling and hours were good as well.

    Cons

Pay is below average ( minimum wage). It becomes rather monotonous at times and very discouraging if there for an extended period of time. Hardly any room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Adhere to customer needs as well as employee needs better. Sweatshop like atmosphere should change. Change store and employee policies to ensure effective management

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone I work with is cool, sometimes management bring food for employees. That is about it. We get paid weekly (every Friday)

    Cons

Tjx rewards cards, we do not get paid extra when we get a card.. I think that is a rip off because people get in debt with them. We do not get paid extra for that...no tips nothing! Management is kind of fake depending who it is. Not worth the pay rate but it is kind of fun working there because of the people you work with. Dogs and cats are welcome in the store so if you have allergies it's not the job for you. Tjx rewards cards are almost a scam and some of the merchandise at tjmaxx isn't always great quality. They now started a new thing where if you don't get people to apply for credit cards your hours are cut. The job is fun at first but then it gets old..

    Advice to Management

Not everyone wants to get a card stop pushing so much.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love most of my coworkers. We're like a family. Same with our regular customers. They are part of our home and family.

    Cons

I'm either overworked, working the hours of a full time employee or working 1 4 hour shift a week. Its a very unreliable schedule even if I request a day off, most of the time im still scheduled to come in. I feel like I'm disrespected and taken advatage of by my management just because im a part time employee.

    Advice to Management

Respect us and we will respect you.

I worked at TJ Maxx full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good pay for management, good benefits like up to 5 weeks paid vacation, up to 240 hrs sick time. You will learn many different areas of management and different styles to manage each individual.

    Cons

Christmas season is very stressful, many hours of work for the same pay. If someone in higher management doesn't like you, you'll not advance.

    Advice to Management

Most of the store managers are good to associates, but some of them are too stressed and don't take care of their employees.
