    Pros

Great people. I honestly love my coworkers and respect my managers.
As long as you ask, you can get a variety of experiences around the store.
Always something to do. I rarely feel bored.

    Cons

    Inconsistent hours.
Very few opportunities to move up in the company.
Payroll is frequently reduced by the higher ups meaning less hours for us little people.

    Advice to Management

Consistent training for employees so that everyone is on the same page.

    Pros

Tj Maxx is a very solid company to work for. They are increasing pay to compete with other companies.

    Cons

Tj Maxx has yet to truly get competitive in pay, especially for the work load that is needed. The company is slow going in there lofty expansion goals.

    Advice to Management

I would advise management to realize the glaring fact that they are losing good people because of their unwillingness to pay appropriately.

    Pros

It's an easy store to work in. The products are simple to understand and easy to help find. There are many departments to train in. Due to short 4 hour shifts given, you find yourself with a ton of free time.

They will be bumping the min pay up to $10/hour in 2016.

    Cons

Hours tend to be bad depending on management. Managers get bonuses due to budget performance. Some will look to cut corners for that bonus. During busy seasons they hit their stores hard with products. Getting trucks 5 days a week tends to add up and you run out of room and patience fast.

Credit Card pushing sucks. You are told to ask the customer 3 times. Once when you greet them. Second time throughout the transaction and then offer them a rewards card if they decline a second time. No matter your position in the store (if you're back room then you are only there for an hour that the store is open at most) you are looked at to get cards.

Markdowns are VERY tedious. It's just scanning a whole department one item at a time and putting a clearance sticker on it if needed. You move all clearance over to that department's clearance when you're done. Your scan numbers are monitored and are looked at in your performance.

A lot of 4/5 hour shifts. Used to give you 5 shifts a week but barely any hours with it. You are usually looked at to get the same amount of tasks done as if you are working an 8 hour shift.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are people too. Give them the tools to get the job done instead of trying to have your cake and eat it too. Give them hours or make their tasks easier to overcome.

Tjmaxx is a great company to gain leadership skills, but they work you too hard with little pay.

    Pros

Great job to have to gain skills for real life situations.

    Cons

The company says they are all about being a team but that's not the case.

    Advice to Management

You need to communicate more with your associates to become more of a team.

    Pros

Relaxed professionalism, good retail hours, tools throughout company to learn and grown from. Everyone wants to be a mentor to another person.

    Cons

Customers can be crazy (anyone can). You really need to be able to function in a fast pace setting, otherwise you will fail.

    Advice to Management

Say thank you as many times during the day as you can.

    Pros

    Big Store
Hours (can always ask for more or take a shift from someone who doesn't want it)
    Cool staff
    Clean break room

    Cons

Customers Steal a lot from this location, pushing credit cards off on customers who don't want it, pay very low, some of the female management don't appreciate their staff. The customer can return anything from open food to panties

    Advice to Management

Be a little more appreciative. Staff tries their best & customers shouldn't be allowed to return everything ( open food, lingerie, open shoes) not sanitary for the staff to deal with. Need to adapt the same rules as Victoria's Secret. No returns on lingerie ! Pay should be at least $9 for the amount of work that has to be done.
