    Pros

This is a union shop where the majority of employees avoid working whenever possible. Most managers don't care as long as they make their low OPH numbers

    Cons

Great place if you like low wages for little work

    Advice to Management

Give your supervisors some management training and make them accountable.

    Pros

    Steady job
    Steady pay
    People are friendly
    Flexible hours
    Great business model
    Free food

    Cons

This company is the biggest cult of modern day
If it were a country, it would be a communist one
    Managers play favourites
Its like High School all over again
    The popular kids get promoted
They preach diversity or inclusion but there's none!
You have to keep up a facade in order to fit in. Which means smiling and acting how they want you to act
Every single one of your actions are watched, documented and criticized by everyone around you
If you're act a little different but a great business driver who gets results, non of that matters.
If you question their status quo they will black list you
Imagine having a 3 hr team meeting about them telling you how to act and how not to act
    Everyone is fake
In order to get promoted, you have to go above and beyond your job, even after that, there's no movement
They just want to milk you to your bones, everyone is told lies and given false hope so they can work you to your core

    Advice to Management

    Be real
    Stop promoting the popular kids
Promote people based on their ability to drive business
    Embrace diversity
If things don't change, good people will leave

    Pros

The company has no competition. It's easy work. Bonuses are consistent.

    Cons

The most vicious political environment you'll ever enter. Management encouraged competition that results in polite face to face but repetitive backstabbing. Lack of competition results in little to no innovation. Adherence to this behaviour is mandatory or eventual firing will occur. Those that challenge the status quo will be forced out.

    Advice to Management

Tell the truth in the hiring process. Either admit it's about political jockeying for promotion or move to a true merit based reward system as opposed to the current system that's reliant on "getting in the the cool crowd".

    Pros

Decent and clean work area-- I am talking about the lunch room and washrooms.
Near the airport (Pearson)-- love to see airplanes.

    Cons

Plenty to list, but I just want to make the highlighted points here--- a) if you don't belong to a certain group, well, you are at a disadvantage from day one; b) Favouritism---as stated by other reviewers is a VERY IMPORTANT element here, again, if you don't get on the favourite's side of your department's supervisor, again, you are doomed; c) training---well, it depends --- my trainer was alright, she was decent. But again, BEWARE of "unintended comments" which literally going to crush you from day 1, no matter HOW HARD YOU TRIED! Sadly, that is pretty much the TRUE life of a temp associate. There IS NO FUTURE FOR YOU! Don't be fooled with the so-called encouraging words of "we are different----promoting cultural diversity---being a mosaic one gigantic working family" ---PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

    Advice to Management

PLEASE DO look at your warehouse management...
I don't know how you guys can become one of the best places to work in Canada, THAT IS ASHAMED!! I wish I can give ONLY HALF OF A STAR, BECAUSE THAT IS ALL YOU DESERVED!!

    Pros

There is an amazing facade of friendliness when you first start here, however this is quickly surpassed by the underlying competitiveness and favouritism that exists. This is a company that consistently talks about diversity and yet it is the only company I've ever worked for that wants everyone to be exactly the same. By this I mean, white, well-connected, upper middle class kids with a finance or business degree.

    Cons

What is marketed to you is very different than reality. The day-to-day tasks for 80% of employees, and this includes buyers, is desk oriented and mostly in excel. This organization preaches that there is no other place to work if you want to be a buyer because you get to travel the world looking for the next new product and this is a complete lie. Most buyers reorder products from the same vendors and spend 10% of the year actually travelling for product. This company is highly political and does not live up to expectations at all.

    Advice to Management

Realize peoples potential by understanding and celebrating their talents. There is no point in hiring people who have a creative background for a company that does not value newness or change. People aren't robots, you cannot expect them all to have the same skills.
