I worked at TJX Companies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are a lot of nice people who work for the company. The office space is large and comfortable. If you need time off, they are good with that. Once in a while they will do nice group things for the employees.

    Cons

This company can be hard to move up in. If a supervisor or higher up doesn't like you, your gone. Even if you work hard, it all comes down to liking you. The supervisors make it kind of obvious if they personally don't like you too. Some supervisors act pretty immature.Raises are a joke there. The database is from the 80's and is not user friendly. The work you do takes double the time due to the old program they use.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

MA's are overwhelmed and need more help.

    Cons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring assistants out of of college because in a year or two they will want more. TJX is unwilling to give them that.

I worked at TJX Companies part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This is a fun store to work at and the associates and customers are generally friendly. There is a lot of variety in the work you have to do, and it is very fast-paced. I enjoyed working at this store.

    Cons

The company asks a lot of associates. It is almost impossible to live up to all their expectations. There are not enough people to keep the sales floor looking as good as it should. Work is not evenly distributed among the coordinators. Some departments have a lot more activity than others. There are often not enough cashiers available to assist at checkout.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is too tight on the payroll budget, and many of the processing/work time goals are unreasonable. They are obviously based on 'perfect world' scenarios, which is not reality.

    Pros

As an entry level sales associate, you are expected to get a minimum wage, since most retail clothing stores are like this anyway. The benefits are u will be able to gain few customer service experiences and techniques but most of the time you just repeat everything you've already know. And plus if you actually like shopping at price deducted retail stores like marshalls or tjmax, working there would be a huge plus because you get employees discount and sometimes when u reach a certain sales goal you get more discounts.

    Cons

Sometimes the employees and supervisors there can be very unfriendly, depends on which area u work in. You are expected to get at least a tjx card every week or every day you have shifts. And lots of works for a minimum wage job. You would be at the cash register for let's say four hours and then they tell you to go fix a department and then they would call you back at the cash register again.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The store managers are nice and friendly enough but some of their supervisors who's in charge of sales associates can be very unfriendly and sarcastic.

I worked at TJX Companies as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The best part of the company is its stance on work-life balance and flexibility. Also everyone at the company is nice to talk to.

    Cons

There is a very clear culture here and if you don't fit, you really don't fit. The passion for the business and emphasis on excitement are requirements. This is not necessarily a con but if you are not passionate about the work, others will noticed and you may be judged not so quietly for it.

I have been working at TJX Companies part-time for more than a year

    Pros

great with working with my school schedule. most co- workers were good with trading shifts if you needed the day off.

    Cons

only pays minimum wage and raises are only once a year and this year was only $.29. you are always cleaning up after costumers. they are also open too long on Sundays and Friday and Saturday nights (in UT) if they didn't to stuff like that and pay to be open when there are not enough costumers in the store to pay the employees and run the building they could pat more

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more and you will have less turnover which will save money. Also if the store hours were more thought out you could pat more as well.
