Stay well away from there, as an employee or as a customer.

Former Employee - Customer Services Representative in London, England (UK)

I worked at TLScontact as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Very friendly and helpful work colleagues considering the ghastly working conditions

    Cons

    - Outrageously low hourly rates for Inner London based company standards, propped up by a pitifully weak bonus system
    - A shameful leave allowance of only 20 days per year (not counting Bank Holidays)
    - Unreasonably unpaid sick leave
    - Exploitative daily unpaid overtime (and long hours too!)
    - Stressfully fast work pace; easily leading to exhaustion well before the end of the week
    - Little consideration for staff's out of working hours personal commitments
    - Immediate and public reprimand for wrongdoings
    - Some unprofessional supervisors lacking suitable team leading skills
    - Crowded workplace, no consideration for health and safety or for a proper work environment

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The employment contract follows the basics of employment law in the UK which is about enough to keep TLScontact out of trouble with employment lawyers.
Staff doesn't need/want "carrot on a stick" freebiessuch as free snacks/fruit, Friday junk food dinners, plasma screen/video games, sofas and free team building exercises (on a Bank Holiday!). Their priorities are to earn enough to pay for bills, bring food on the table and understandably have some free time for a personal life. This is the UK, not Bangladesh.
If the CEO can't afford to pay his staff decent rates, maybe he should revise his business plan.

    I worked at TLScontact full-time

    Pros

    I couldn't see anything positive.

    Cons

Extremely unprofessional HR recruitment process in Beijing. I had two interviews. Information provided was contradictory. An interviewer showed up 10 minutes too late. Questions asked were not or only answered partially.

The job offer I received was poor and lacking of relevant information. Further inquiries made were ignored. The salary was significant below market rate. HR was not even willing to discuss negotiate the salary. However, it was good to learn how (potential) employees are treated by TLScontact. It's up to everyones personal decision whether such an corporate culture is acceptable. For me it is not to the place to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be aware that the job interview is a two-way street.

    Pros

Opportunities to travel the world, deal with high level diplomats and learn from experts across the business. Talent and potential is supremely valued over years of experience, meaning you get responsibilities and high profile projects fast and the opportunity to show you can deliver.

    Cons

Very demanding working environment means not everyone will succeed, only those humble enough to learn from their shortcomings will succeed

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to invest in professionals in all parts of the business

    Pros

Employés véritablement sympathiques, aidants, et se soutenant les uns les autres

Really nice employees, helpful and having each other backs

    Cons

    - A lot of unpaid overtime. Paid working hours are 8.30 / 17h30. Employee are to be present at 8 and often finish after 7, sometimes it goes to 9/10 PM !
You don't catch up overtime (Meaning no early leave on slow day). If there isn't any customer, staff will have you attend meetings, or doing additional work (eg:Emailing for hours)

    - The company advertise available bonuses. But those aren't available before 2/3 months, and one mistake can pretty much void any bonus you earned before.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

En réalité, le management local est sympathique, mais la ligne de conduite de l'entreprise les empêche de faire quoi que ce soit d'agréable pour l'employé.

Actually local management is nice, but the company line of conduct prevent them from doing anything good for the employee.

    Changement de personnel important

    Beaucoup de pression

Invasion incessante de la vie privée par l'entreprise…

    Very low remuneration
