I have been working at TMI Hospitality full-time

    Pros

TMI Hospitality is a great company to work for. They treat their employees well (have a monthly allowance for employee appreciation). The hours are flexible, great job to have while you are in school.

    Cons

Management leaves after 5:00 PM so you are left to deal with any problems on your own. No lunch breaks, minimum wage pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Front desk should be paid the same amount night auditors are paid after management leaves.

    Pros

Discounts on hotel rooms within 50 minutes of the place you work.

    Cons

Low pay and no breaks, stand 8 full hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Given your employees a break. Its the law! Pay them more than min wage.

I have been working at TMI Hospitality full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

LOTS of room for advancement for those willing to work hard. Great Management, including regional. Appreciation shown for exceeding expectations, at the hotel and regional level.
I have to believe most of the reviews here are by disgruntled employees. I have medical for my family for 39 dollars a month, incredibly generous vacation time, ESOP benefit has been very generous, a rare benefit.
My mother was diagnosed with cancer last July, Management has made it clear they will give me whatever time I need to care for my mom, while providing hotel rooms for her medical care at Mayo Clinic.

    Cons

Sometimes long hours are necessary, a given in theis industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep supporting and appreciating all of your staff in the way you already do!

    I worked at TMI Hospitality

    Pros

I loved the guests, location, and this area of work!

    Cons

Horrible management! Horrible pay! They have no morals! You WILL NOT advance in the company! They will hire out ONLY!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation needs to be increased! When people are working hard for you, show them that you appreciate it! Also, when a person dies in one of your rooms, don't threaten one of your employees to be fired if they don't clean the body stains off of the mattress just so you don't loose $200 until you get a new mattress! You should be put in jail for that!

I have been working at TMI Hospitality part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Work by myself and slower pace to get more work done.

    Cons

Most communication is done by pass on logs and not direct. The hotel is an older hotel and needs updated.

    I worked at TMI Hospitality

    Pros

the guest you meet while working with the company.

    Cons

employees stealing including management, very poor management from the regional to the housekeeping manager.
inappropriate behavior from gm's slapping female employees on the behind.
never able to contact a manager in the event of a situation.
they have you train your replacement.
I worked for the company for 5 years and worked 1st 2nd and 3rd shift all in one week I worked every department from front desk to night audit, housekeeping, laundry and breakfast but front desk was my main position. for the 1st three years of my employment the hotel was under a pay freeze which meant no raises but still a ton of work. the company was merging with starwood capital and was ending the esop program which meant they had to pay out the employees esop stock the hotel I worked fired my gm so he could not collect his esop and was planning on doing the same to me. I over heard a conversation between a property support manager corp. had sent to look over the hotel till a new gm was appointed , she was talking to a new employee I was training she told her to learn everything she could from me because once the new employees were trained they were going to let me fire me. I put me 2 week written notice in after I heard the conversation and management became unhappy they took me off a schedual that was just made and did not allow me to work my last two weeks. I filed for unemployement and won now the company is trying to stop my unemployment by protesting it and are trying to make me pay back the money the paided me for unemployment.
they even bad mouth you when other companies call for verification of employment.
they will not even let me draw on my esop funds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

show your employees you value their hard work.

I have been working at TMI Hospitality full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I am now part of a team that I dreamed about, did not know I could find! The things you say to yourself in other places that you WISH you had in a work environment, and ITS HERE. I love going to work again, I lose sleep thinking of what tomorrow will bring, Mondays are exciting! Work load for the hard working is fine, family balance is ALL HERE

    Cons

little less pay than I am used too, but it is comparable to other like sized properties, but I hope to prove my worth and drive to address that bit by bit

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

keep growing at a steady pace- you have a WINNING corporate team and property level talent unmatched in the industry- please don't expand too fast- the health of your winning recipe is solid and fast expansion can decimate infrastructure
