    Pros

    Good people, pay and benefits.

    Cons

High turnover due to no work-life balance. Management systems and processes are broken, which causes a high level of frustration and constant re-inventing of the wheel.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a management system that is integrated throughout the organization.

    Pros

The company is growing so there is no shortage of projects to work on. Middle management is hit or miss depending on your department. Some are very political, but some do an excellent job. The people there are experienced and a lot of them really know what they're talking about. Good work-life balance, the expectation is not for 50+ hour weeks, and there is a 9/80 schedule.

    Cons

If you're not on one of the main expansion projects, it is easy to feel like your projects are insignificant. There is some politics in middle management (there is everywhere you go). In a quest to change the culture, there is a nebulous mix of old culture vs. new culture as they try to change bad habits from the past (e.g. less investment in reliability and infrastructure). New culture has not yet fully taken hold. A lot of work in the plant is "fire fighting" (not literal fires) since it is an old facility, and engineers have to focus on root cause investigations and not optimizing their units.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in personal growth of each individual and create defined paths for advancement within the organization

    Pros

Exceptional co-workers and senior level management, great to work and support. Very competive pay and great benefits. Just moved downtown Houston 1 year ago.

    Cons

Going through growing pains. Bringing a better environment to employees. Change is difficult but good. Change isn't always easy or pleasant, but long term vision is clear.

    Advice to Management

Bonus program for all not just management. Everyone works hard as a team and should get the same compensation.

    Pros

    Smaller company poised for growth.

    Cons

For a small company, politics are prominent. Certain key managers do not support industry best practices or process improvement. As a result, they are struggling with controlling costs.

    Advice to Management

Be open to suggestions from their employees that are the subject matter experts in the field. Hold your management to conduct themselves respectfully and professionally in the workplace.
