I have been working at TPC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, pension and 401k plans, complimentary employee lunches and golf and nice perks. A good mix of long term and newer employees

    Cons

As one of many businesses in a network, it's difficult at times to maintain a sense of identity as corporate seems to want to streamline everything

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More competitive salaries, improve communication and eliminate redundant paperwork

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at TPC

    Pros

Meeting different people that you can connect with in the real working world

    Cons

Bully technique of upper management. Policies that are told but never followed. Promises made and not kept. Lack of security, lack of leadership, and lack of morals in upper management. It was all about them making their money no matter what.

  3. TPC is one of the smart company that does Professional Cheating. OPT Students...don't think of TPC at all

I have been working at TPC full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

No pros. need to work on weekends as well....No pay....

    Cons

TPC utilizes the humans like machines. No moral values, professional cheating. One would never imagine how they cheat. Youtube videos, Linkedin etc..everything is a professional projection to show off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't play with life of humans. When you cheat someone, it will not cost you. But I am pretty much sure that I will cost to your family and children bcoz of what you did to others. It will be one man show all the time....figure out the senior people...They are smart enough to MANIPULATE any student or strangers.

I have been working at TPC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for. Awesome benefits like 401K, Dental, paid vacation, not to mention employee golf. Promotes within for hiring, which gives employees a chance to advance higher in their career with the company.

    Cons

Scheduling can be a bit of a hassel, as far as working 6 days a week. Tight with staff, not enough employees at times to carry the workload.

I worked at TPC full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great place to be if you want to sit around and make a paycheck. Keep your head down, do as you are told, and you can keep your job. They bribe you with a fully stocked break room and the area has great places to eat.

    Cons

If you question anything, you will be ostracized immediately. At the operations level, the organization is run by a workplace bully. Other leaders in the office are a joke; snoring and sleeping in your office daily can get you promoted. Top leadership is always out of office and when in office, totally disengaged and to busy finding new ways to cheat their members out of their money. Once the Feds take a closer look, the Ponzi Scheme will lead to a lot if jail time for those still there...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People immediately see that actions and words do not line up within a few weeks. Find a new industry to work in and stop being part of the problem with healthcare.

I worked at TPC full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great training, lots of exposure to technology and different aspects of the golf business.

    Cons

Advancement policies were not consistent, and promises of advancement and career growth were just a means to continue working for mediocre salaries.

  8. A good introduction to the world of sales

I worked at TPC full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great people - The President really cares about doing thing the right way and the career guys are all very helpful and supportive

Opportunity - You can and will move up extremely rapidly if you produce

Experience - The job offers a good entrance point in the world of sales. It really is all kind of the same stuff at the core of it.

You will become better at talking to strangers if you stay at TPC for any length of time.

The pay: this one is definitely a double edged sword, but I've seen people average anywhere from just above minimum wage to 30/hour so the ceiling is at least more in your control.

    Cons

The commute: It can absolutely be brutal. Travel can extend over a large swath of East Tennessee.

The pay: It is commission. You only get it if the product actually gets installed and cancellation rate is woefully high (~25%). This can happen if the customer cancels before install or if the trees preclude the satellite from reaching the dish. Often times, the "ceiling" mentioned above gets all the publicity in the office, but the reality most people find themselves in is much closer to the minimum wage "floor".

The hours: Tuesday and Wednesday off, the rest on. 11-8 Monday/Thursday, 11-7 Friday/Saturday, 10-6 Sunday

The office: happens before the above hours, no pay, no possibility of earning money. The "pump up" sales speeches can get repetitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing.

This was a fun job and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.

    Cons

Pay was not the best but the environment makes up for that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at TPC

    Pros

Free Golf at a challenging and fun course. Easy workload which basically all revolves around the members. Good group of people to work with make the time go by quicker. Hours are split into two groups of openers and closers. Openers are 6am-2pm while closers are 11am-7pm.

    Cons

Pay is minimum wage plus tips. Normally that sounds fine however tips due to the economy have dwindled largely. What used to be walking away with $40-$80 in tips a night became $10-$30.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I feel outside operations deserve a larger base pay being as they are the "front lines" of keeping the members happy and coming back.
