I have been working at TPG full-time for less than a year

    Pros

They do pay you providing you clock on and off every day.
Makes every other company in Australia look like shining places of enlightenment

    Cons

No strategic direction shared with the employees at any level
No trust shown at any level of management down
No career prospects with no formalised pay review process
Morale is so low it is depressing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some help, formulate a strategy that reflects 21st century attitudes that value employees contributions.

I worked at TPG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

free lunch, nice offices, decent pay

    Cons

executives can be curt, they see through the EAs. It's too bad because they do have a lot of quality people working with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

executives should be trained on how to treat their EAs with respect and courtesy. people seem to be appreciative of TPG. generally nice people. there is a culture of separation between EAs and the executives. I know they are there to support them, but it does not mean they are inferior to them.

I worked at TPG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My experience here was unique as I was able to support a very bright, very busy, but supportive high level executive. We had a very good working relationship. The company offers many perks, including great pay, vacation allowance, health benefits, etc.

    Cons

The local HR department head (if you can call it that) undermines everything good about working for this company. They let many undeserving people take complete advantage of the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Local management needs to take a look at their local HR department and also cut down on the level of bureaucracy in various departments.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at TPG

    Pros

One of the best cultures in large cap private equity. Very smart, hard working group of people. People expect you to work long hours but are understanding of a life outside the office as well

    Cons

It's a great private equity firm, but a very large one - not a good fit if you are looking for a smaller team environment. Hours are normal for private equity but long for any other profession
