I have been working at TRADEBOOK

    Pros

Gain insight into agency brokerage business, long history of e-trading on street, good/capable people, collaborative environment, enough resource for personal growth, great leadership under Ray Tierney

    Cons

Software development is relatively slow/risk adverse and it takes long time to implement new idea and product. Some sales rep could be more up front and more aware of the new products and technology

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward top talents, attract outside hire, and cut off dead weight to make the company move fast and take more leadership in agency trading business

Former Employee - Bloomberg Tradebook in New York, NY

I worked at TRADEBOOK as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

If aggressive, managers are open to giving projects. A lot to learn and not tied down to one desk or group. Real work. Part of Bloomberg too so great training. Senior employees are really interested in teaching the interns.

    Cons

Can be slow at times. Not many interns so a lot of the work is independent. The program is not as organized as it could be

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Formalize Tradebook internship independently from the rest of Bloomberg

I have been working at TRADEBOOK

    Pros

great place to obtain licensing and gain experience and knowledge and about the markets. also provides huge opportunity to develop relationships within the investment community.

    Cons

compensation could be improved, not greatly impacted by individual performance and still relative to peer performance. platform is not up to speed with current technology and is playing "catch-up" with the rest of the market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

allow transparant communication between bloomberg depts on the bbg system. complete the tradebook offering with PB services and offer a more competitive compensaton package that greatly rewards significant outperformance.

I have been working at TRADEBOOK

    Pros

Fast paced atmosphere. Everyday is different. You have the opportunity to be creative. The one thing you have to remain true to is that you cannot maintain an inexpensive product and be able to service your clients well.

    Cons

Rates are a race to zero in these markets. Many firms are looking for the absolute cheapest way to sustain their business. You dictate how much you want to make but in this economy, firms are shutting down left and right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget what this company was built on. Service, support, and a quality solution
