I have been working at TRC Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule if you are non-exempt status. Core teams are great to work with. I got lucky and have great managers to work directly under. The program I help administer is really well organized and fun to help manage.

    Cons

Advancement is slow and lower level position pays are very low for the type of work you do. Some managers that aren't involved with what you do on a daily basis think they can micro-mange you and basically have control of your pay and future. Training an don-boarding is not great. Reviews are done annually on the same month for entire company regardless of when you were hired and are mediocre.

    Advice to Management

Training could be improved. Annual review process needs work. Appreciate your younger staff and pair them with mentors to help fill upper management positions when they open.

I have been working at TRC Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Diversity of projects in mutltiiple industries

    Cons

Management is inconsistent across the board: some are micro-managers, some not; some are just flat out bad leaders who spread their suffering Not good salary compensation or raises Engineers are put on same level playing field as scientists-which is not the way the world operates "Cover your behind" culture leads to divisions among office personnel and a general culture of stress.

    Advice to Management

Do not promote managers who are bad leaders! No matter how technically smart, if they do not know how to relate to people/mentor/inspire a positive outlook, they will never be good managers. Period!

    Pros

The company lets you work on multiple types of projects an doesn't micromanage your work which great. Also they are supportive and encourage growth within the company.

    Cons

    Management tends to be unorganized.

I worked at TRC Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I really can't think of any. I just would not recommend that anyone work there. Whole office almost completely turned over in about 3 years.

    Cons

No training. No raises while working there. Hard to maintain registrations if you don't have training. I was not allowed to take my 8 Hour refresher that is required.

I worked at TRC Companies (More than a year)

    Pros

    travel,relaxed enviroment, very little micromanaging.

    Cons

Dont seem to worry about training younger workers for when key office people retire. Inexperienced people in managment positions. Lack of meaningfull training. project managers who think they can tell others what to do because they have the word manager in their title. this company loves indian labor and pass over americans especially when the hiring manager is indian.

    Advice to Management

Recruit and train younger workers when people close to retirement leave. Replace upper managment with someone experienced in their field and not with people who use big words from google.
