I worked at TSMC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Employees welfare is given great importance. Even at times of economic crisis employees were furloughed but not fired. Opportunity to do great work in some of the teams.

    Cons

Rigid job grade structure. Managers seemed to care more about time spent on job rather than quality of work. Did not seem to reward initiative from junior employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider a more flexible heirarchy to promote and nurture talent.

I worked at TSMC as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

If you have higher degree from US, you might get better chance for salary and promotion.

    Cons

It's a military, so there is no much space for a research to explore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They only have on job training. By their definition, you would be rotate to another team for three months or longer, and then came back to the original team. I don't see any benefit from this system because you still don't catch up the whole operation unless you stay longer than 1.5 years. Wok-life balance strongly depends on team. If you were in manufacturing team, then you'd better have passion to stay with it...
