I have been working at TSYS Acquiring Solutions full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Flexible work schedules, progressive leadership, newer technologies, warm environment and close social groups. Much more dynamic and vibrant a feel than the corporate office in Columbus, GA.

    Cons

Many groups operate willingly in silos and can be cliquish at times, definitely a little "good ole boy" in some parts of the company. The company is based in Georgia so is a bit... conservative... sometimes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace a more open environment and let go of the (dying) past

I have been working at TSYS Acquiring Solutions full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid back culture with good natured people. Good benefits package. Interesting work and a lot of opportunity to move around within.

    Cons

Employees are simply not compensated what they should be or what is truly competitive. With unemployment rates dropping, this could hurt the company outlook as those who KNOW their true value in the market will move on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Strategically address comp issues with strong performers. You are 20,000-30,000 under the mark for most jobs in technology. Fix it or kiss top performers goodbye in this job market. After 3-4 years of high unemployment, it's changing and this will be painful. The cost to rehire and train far exceeds the cost to just fix this. It's all over this board. Do something about it!

I have been working at TSYS Acquiring Solutions full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It is better than being unemployed?

    Cons

Oh where to begin. Management has no clue to what is going on. We have more managers than workers. Forget working hard there really is no point everyone gets the same performance rating and the same raise. You might as well do like everyone else and just show up. I suggest you focus your true energy on finding another job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of advising employees to go on glassdoor to leave good reviews of the company so we can attract great employees maybe you should actually just treat employees well and pay them what they deserve. Hiring additional staff to figure out why our surveys on approval and job satisfaction is so low is another dumb idea. How hard is it to understand that you are undervaluing the achievers to the point where all they want to do is leave.

    Pros

One of the top companies with ethics
Flat organization with few hierarchies. Senior management very approachable and casual in relationships

    Cons

Work is bottle necked with few personnel and company culture trying to create change with an objective of improving GPS (great place to work survey) score
Equal set of content and disgruntled workers who have spent more than 5 years, which suggests either one is happy or disconnected with the place entirely

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more involved in grooming employees and be open/proactive in communicating feedback

    Pros

The corporate culture at TSYS surpasses any company that I've worked with before. Executive leadership inspires senior managers to engage team members on every level. Your opinion matters at TSYS and your career path is very broad and professionally guided by leadership.

    Cons

It's tough to think of any real cons. Maybe examining job categories a little more closely in order to determine which categories could work remote (from home OR from another TSYS location).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing it the way you're doing it!

I have been working at TSYS Acquiring Solutions full-time

    Pros

There are almost always opportunities to grow and learn within this company. Many people started out on the help desk, and used that as a stepping stone to other departments, from programming, to finance, to marketing, lots of variety and chances to make a difference.

    Cons

Although the company strives to achieve a unified corporate mentality, the reality is that different locations often serve widely different markets and have different operational needs. This dichotomy can be challenging at time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your existing people what you would pay for a similarly experienced person coming from another company. It's cheaper and better to keep people than to replace them.

I have been working at TSYS Acquiring Solutions full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The environment is very laid back in the Golden office, but that stems from the days when this location was Procard before TSYS acquired them. Everyone here is friendly. Free bottled water, teas, soda, coffee. Lenient on days off as long as work is completed.

    Cons

They don't seem to want to spend any money on just maintaining the data center they have. About 3 years behind the curve. Most equipment is end of life or warranty. Seems difficult to get pay increases and when they are given it's a nominal amount of money. Lots of red tape to get through to get needed items. Impossible to get quality training for anything related to your field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To be such a large company with so many high profile clients and not to be on the cutting edge of your market seems crazy to me. You must spend money to make money. Get your employees training and let them explore new options for you. You are only as good as the people you have working for you.
