    Pros

Friendly staff, interesting job meeting many new people every day. Head staff is always willing to help you out and you never need to be afraid to ask for anything. Very flexible in work hours

    Cons

Mostly part time staff, you can't make a living only doing this job, ships do not come in every day. Sometimes travel is a hassle to get there.

    Pros

Great corporate culture. I worked in the head office as a business analyst and everyone from the cleaners to high level management had a commitment to the company and its goals. People working together on the surprisingly complex task of delivering quality hoidays to people at affordable prices. Full of really nice looking people (regardless of your preferences) as well!

    Cons

Whilst the corporate culture is great, the corporation as a whole was prone to fairly major and rapid mood swings. Things would seem to go from very positive to very negative dpending on individual news items and current world wide events. Admittedly I was there for the tsunami in which th company lost both clients and employees, however the reactive nature of the workplace went way beyond that understandble reactiuon to a shocking incident. Small news items would lead to big chnages in policy only to have them changed back again a few days later.

    Advice to Management

A longer field of vision would lead to less corporate fire fighting.

    Pros

Good Salary Fantastic product Easy to use system Great training program Beautiful destinations Good staff offers Easy working environment Amazing team and manager

    Cons

Mystery shoppers are probably one of the hardest things to deal with as they really stress you out and you feel unnatural serving when knowing they are going to come.

    Advice to Management

Training was great when I started and my team were fabulous. An education wouldn't go a miss as I know it really improves product knowledge.

    Bullies

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

All positives were completely and utterly crushed......

    Cons

Line managers bully their staff as they too are bullied. So you cannot approach anyone for help to prevent this as those above rule in a similar way. Targets reached so they find something else to shout about. Humiliating, upsetting, destroying, disaster of an experience. I quit a good job to join Tui and feel gutted I was duped from day one. False promises of what's on the horizon. Absolutely NO employee care whatsoever.

    Advice to Management

If you wish to keep staff and save on training costs. Treat them as human beings. Value their work, educate if they fail. Praise often..

I worked at TUI Travel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

they do focus on staff development and provide courses such as insights which was a great tool and experience. There is plenty of opportunities and you can never get bored (would not get the chance to). Fast paced yet exciting company to work for.

    Cons

Balancing work and life is difficult due to the pressures of working within such a driven company. Remember to focus on you and if you focus on yourself and your own strengths everyone including the company will benefit.

    Advice to Management

Try and involve the employee in the appraisal process and spend more time ensuring staff are OK rather than just assuming....

    Pros

Good prospects for year long work Explore the world Promotion opportunities Tax free subsistance Free accomodation Great colleagues Head office opportunities

    Cons

Hr processes can take time, generally a number in regards to hr team but Region mamagers make up for this. Time away from home

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work but maybe look at employing more staff in hr / placements as they always seem to be stretched too much
