    I worked at Take-Two full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nice refurbished office with a big kitchen.

    Cons

You feel yourself under a constant pressure. The HR are absolutely unhelpful and narrow minded, you will never hear any positive word from then, only the constant nagging. You are a company worth billions why don't you do something to improve the work environment? Do some team building exercises, some away days or other things that will help people to communicate. The office environment is terrible, half of people PRETEND to be very very busy and they normally get all the praises. Overall a terrible place to work.

HR and IT are always under some reconstruction, something is always changing but getting worse and worse.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace HR management with more positive people who rewards employees instead of moaning and nagging.

I have been working at Take-Two

    Pros

Office location. Roof top dining area.

    Cons

There has been a change in leadership during the past two years that seem to have ruined the balance. Many departments have gone through one or two overhauls. The management does not seem to know the difference between the technical or managerial talent. If you are a real top tier IT professional go to a top tier company with proper procedures in place and for twice the pay. Tough managerial approach needs to be justified by the action and proposed improvement, not constant pointing to the mistakes or weak areas. The IT department needs to implement proper processes on designing, transitioning and maintaining the new services. Implementing a solution and dumping it into a corporate grinder without any methodical approach is a killer in the long term.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire proper managers that will bring the best in all employees, not some narrowly oriented engineers without any managerial ability or experience.

I have been working at Take-Two full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Manager, Director level and above is smooth sailing, you will be promoted for showing up to work and sticking with it for a few years. Eventually you will plateau.

You will learn a lot, especially about office politics. Work life balance is what you make of it, they will not force you to work weekends.

    Cons

Corporate culture does not match studio culture. Pay is on the low end for most positions, poor bonus structure.

Bureaucratic issues run wild and will prevent you from succeeding in any project or career advancement. Rewards do not coincide with performance.

The HR department has turned over numerous times, a bad sign in general. The IT department has turned over 4 times in the last 5 years, and other departments at startling rates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of redundant management and poor performers. Look for the few leaders that stand out and give them the freedom to succeed.

    I worked at Take-Two full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The benefits package offered is actually very good compared to what is out there. I met some great people working for the company, and there is nice collaboration between departments within the Corporate office. The office decor is nice, depending on which department you are in. Free bottled water is nice, if you know where to find it.

    Cons

There is no work-life balance here. The corporate culture is non-existent. They sell a "cool, creative and fun" environment, but it truly is anything but. That is the culture at many of the labels, but not at HQ. The worse place to be in this company is in HQ. The message that is perceived by corporate employees is "you don't make games, so you don't matter." This is reflected both in pay and treatment. The HR Department has actually turned over almost entirely twice in the last 4-5 years. Major red flag.

Performance management is a funny thing here. Employees are compensated more for seniority than they are for being high performers. After walking into a major mess and huge projects already happening, my manager told me, "Everyone gets 'Meets Expectations' in their first year" - not quite reviewing performance if everyone gets the same thing no matter what.

Those seeking work for one of the labels will be much better off, as the pay is higher and bonus payouts are more lucrative.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to the employees in corporate who bust their tails to support, serve and bend over backwards for the labels. There is a huge disconnect from department heads to those in the trenches. A couple of departments have had mass exodus lately, and this is likely one reason why.

  7. My experience was mostly negative working at Take-Two. The QA department was poorly managed and unsatisfactory.

I worked at Take-Two as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Day shift ends at 7:00 PM allowing employees to get home earlier than most QA dayshift positions.

    Cons

Poor management and leadership, poor QA department rules and regulations. QA department development, incentives and testing procedures are less than average and at times counter intuitive to efficient testing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change policies to better suit employee retention, development and encouragement.

    I worked at Take-Two

    Pros

work with new storage appliances and having hands on experience in data centre

    Cons

When I was working there I thought it was a good place to work but only when I left I realised how bad it was compared to other companies. It was good to work with new storage appliances and having hands on experience in data centre but that is it. The office environment is very bad I think it does not follow proper regulations for work place. They change management every year and every new manager is worse than the previous one. For them it is all about having more power and having “their” people around them. The will treat you as just another one expendable resource. They will not teach you and will not mentor you instead they will just keep saying or implying that you are stupid and will destroy your self-esteem. If you are not one of the gang close to cio then you will be bullied and will hate that place.

I have been working at Take-Two

    Pros

Nice place to work, great games, challenges and experience.

    Cons

Low salary, no social life support, same routine, overtime not paid, no space to grow, one small mistake can cost you any chance to grow although limited, unless you know the right people. No pay rise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about your employees at a personal level, with inflation going up and no overtime paid a person is simply home-work-home, not worth it. Open more positions, people can stay 3+ years in the same role with no advancement AT ALL.

I have been working at Take-Two

    Pros

they respect your weekends. the weekends are yours unless it gets very busy but then they will try not to make you work on your weekends. in turn the weekdays might be longer at crunch mode but you do get OT. they won't offer a higher position unless you have some type of interest in the position. if you need to take time off for certain reasons its fairly easy to request time off unless your in chrunch mode. if your responsible and cover your hours accordingly you can take time in the day to excercise and do your preventative care.

    Cons

like any big video game company(100+employees) your just a number. they don't look at your tenure or what you have accomplished, being layed off is common. with 100+ employees perks might be hard to come by but at least do something to let your employees know that they're appreciated. as aways the political game is played here as well. if a boss likes you then you're favored. we usually don't get much feedback since work is pretty consistent and constant. down time has been far inbetween. most of the crunch time modes coincide with usual vacation months summer time and xmas times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

appreciate your workers not with words but with action.
