Many opportunities to learn and grow in the science field. Lots of opportunities to expand knowledge with classes such as auditing, computers, etc.

Cons

The company paid lower salaries than most of the competing companies. However, the company is stable providing most with good job security, so this may be looked over.

Advice to Senior Management

Management was doing a pretty good job when I was employed at Talecris, however, they may need to listen to the needs of their employees as far as salaries to be more competitive.

Pros

It is very rewarding to work for a company that is involved in the community and provides a product to critically ill patients. Pay and benefits are above average.

Cons

The transition to new ownership makes it hard to maintain job focus. Sometimes it appears that different departments are not treated fairly in comparison to each other.

We need to work hard during the integration to be honest and open to the new opportunities presented while maintaining our committment to the patients.

Great people, very professional and passionate about the plasma industry, yet relaxed enough to make long lasting friendships. I am very impressed by this company.

Very fast paced, at times the amount of work is overwhelming. Some days are just hectic. This industry is not for everyone.

Management at the center level is outstanding. Kudos to the great teams of Talecris Plasma Resources. Donations are increasing all across the nation!

Advancement opportunities are hard to come by. Employees stay at the company for a long time which provides little room for advancement.

Cons

It's plasma and there are a lot of hours involved. If you are in any exempt position you are going to be working at least 50-60 hours most weeks. This is a 24/7 job. If you don't like being completely available outside of normal business hours an exempt position is not for you.

Be aware of how valuable the center employees are.

Pros

If you are in with the good ole boy network then you will have a wonderful experience. If not, your experience will be horrible. Not a good place for a Northerner or an outsider to work.

Cons

It is a managers place to work from a standpoint of HR. Company's HR policy is heavy favored for the manager and not the employee.

Advice to Senior Management

Get rid of the good ole boy network and get some talent in there. Make clayton a melting pot. The un-welcoming of outsiders will catch up eventually.
