I have been working at Talentrust

    Pros

The leadership of this company is great, everyone supports your goals and we work together as a team instead of just keeping our heads down and doing our work. We have daily check ins and we all work virtually from home.

    Cons

We are very busy, sometimes keeping your head above water is hard. But it's better to be busy than bored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what your doing--keep supporting your employees and their goals.

    I worked at Talentrust

    Pros

    Solid company values
Position is a remote position and working from home as advantages

    Cons

    Pay is extremely low
    Unmanageable work load
There have been many problems with the Directors

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire Directors that are true leaders and can successfully manage their teams.
Remind Directors that is is inappropriate to talk negatively about other employees and the executive team.
Hire more employees overall so the clients will be happy with the service provided.

    Pros

The best thing about working for TalenTrust is that it is a small company that cares about its employees and is always finding ways to improve every aspect about the business.

After reading previous reviews it is obvious to me that the CEO as well as the entire leadership team has learned from past mistakes/experiences and is devoted to growth and learning of the organization and those in it. In addition, if the reviews from 2013 and prior are accurate as to what the culture was like then, it is obvious that the organization has listened to feedback and made a lot of changes since those ratings were relevant.

No two days are the same! That's the beauty of working with a small and growing company! The culture is always improving and always being monitored. This can make for an exciting and ever changing work environment, which can make some people feel like the organization lacks consistency. I can speak from experience to say that TalenTrust definitely does not lack consistency but has gained the ability to change with the market as well as with the feedback and needs of the employees.

    Cons

With TalenTrust you will find what you normally would in a small, growing, disruptive organization. You will find a value placed on high character and a job that is demanding. Although not a negative aspect to me personally, the hours at TalenTrust can be long and the workload can be heavy. The job security and ownership of working for such a close knit group, who are all pulling for the same thing makes the long hours worth the time and future possibilities of working with this awesome group.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Each member of the leadership/management team brings their own unique skills to the table but as a group you can't ask for a more caring and genuine group.

Good intentions but a hot mess

I worked at Talentrust full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers and good idea - RPO model where clients pay a contracted recurring monthly fee to have a designated recruiter handle all their staffing needs. Flexible virtual / home office environment.

    Cons

Lack of tools and resources to do the job, benefits are almost non-existent, ridiculously high turnover, inconsistency in treatment of employees (favoritism), no transparency especially to clients - recruiters are forced to give PR answers when there are problems. Values statement is a joke because of constant pressure to lie to clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be better listeners. Dive into the reasons why good people keep leaving. The concept is good but you will continue to lose clients if you continue to lose staff. Owner needs to eat some humble pie and acknowledge that many things need improvement.

I have been working at Talentrust part-time

    Pros

Working from home, able to work in areas that interest you, flexibility, support and mentoring from Kathleen, Eileen and Darrick, and most importantly for me...we have some really great clients (past and present) and I've loved having plalyed some part in their success.

    Cons

Rapidly growing organization requires lots of flexibility and prioritizing and it can be challenging to keep everyone satisfied.

    Pros

TalenTrust is a growing company which offers great growth and learning opportunities for it's staff. Working from home offers great flexibility, but can make it hard to shut down at times. TalenTrust has some great clients and it is fun to get immersed in their business cultures.

    Cons

The work load can be a bit high so individuals need to be self motivated.

I have been working at Talentrust full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Nothing is better than working from home; when you have children or work far from a major city, this is a great opportunity. It looks good on your resume because of the hard work you do on a daily basis.

    Cons

The requisition load is unrealistic and if you are not a Director, you are treated like an executive assistant; they hire people with years of recruiting experience who are much more qualified than the work they are given.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let everyone have a say in what happens instead of just the extremely tenured employees; hire enough workers to get the job done efficiently, instead of working the current employees to the bone.

I worked at Talentrust full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The co-workers were great the management not!

    Cons

This was an experience that was a nightmare. Horrible management that spoke down to the employees. They do not share the truth with the clients and ask all of the Director's of Service Excellence to not share how many clients we actually service.

It was the biggest nightmare and highly recommend everyone to do their homework. The management has to be bi-polar. They yell, screech and are absolutely unprofessional. We worked around 75 hours a week and that still was not enough. This would be why there is such turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat people more professionally and do not lie to the clients.

Innovative high-growth company with unique business model, rewarding work, and strong values-based culture

Current Contractor - Director in Denver, CO

I have been working at Talentrust as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

    Innovative business model:
After over 18 years in the staffing industry, Founder and CEO Kathleen Quinn Votaw realized that the traditional business model was broken, was outdated, and didn’t always act in the best interest of companies or job candidates. Kathleen founded TalenTrust in 2003 and resolved to completely disrupt the status quo and address the weaknesses of traditional staffing/recruiting. She envisioned much more than a typical search firm. Nearly ten years later, the company has become a nationwide provider of strategic outsourced recruiting and grown to a team of 15 people with annual revenues approaching $2 million. The company has thrived and grown dramatically (nearly 250% over the past 3 years), despite the recent economic downturn. Kathleen and her team have created a proven, defined process that drives the talent acquisition and human capital needs of small- and mid-size businesses

    Leadership and values:
TalenTrust lists the following core values: Always do the right thing; Be honest and act with integrity; Treat each client, candidate and colleague with respect and dignity; Have a passion for what you do; Seek excellence. These statements are more than words at TalenTrust; they are infused into every interaction with team members, candidates, clients and others. As examples, the leadership seeks employees, partners and clients who share these values and she celebrates employee actions that reflect these values. The CEO trusts and empowers her people to manage their work, solve problems and help drive the company forward towards aggressive growth goals. She is a positive person who is always of looking at a problem or challenge and turning it into an opportunity … an opportunity to learn, an opportunity to teach, an opportunity to strategically advise another business owner or an opportunity to create a new business process or TalenTrust service offering.

    Culture and rewarding work:
The innovative business structure at TalenTrust aims to maximize each team member’s contribution while offering impressive flexibility. The company employs people in part-time, full-time and contract-to-hire roles, and offers the technology and support for an entirely virtual workplace, meaning that employees can work flexible schedules from home offices or other office locations. The team collaborates to serve client partners and enhance the organization’s business operations, and comes together on a regular basis to celebrate both individual and group accomplishments. The people who are committed to TalenTrust are rewarded with engaging and meaningful work, competitive salaries and benefits, and opportunities for profit-sharing as the company exceeds specific growth goals.

    Cons

    Change and rapid growth:
The organization requires very talented and flexible professionals who want to contribute to its growth. Everyone on the team at TalenTrust must not only survive, but thrive in a demanding environment of rapid growth and change. The organization is evolving and changing as it enhances its processes and improves its service delivery.
