I have been working at Tangoe

    Pros

    Okay pay/market pay
    Okay benefits
    Easy job
Looks good in your employment history.

    Cons

    In fighting
    No support on major issues
Poor relationship with a vast majority of vendors.
Next to no employee knowledge of a majority of vendors
    Blatant nepotism
    Unfair promotion selections
    Lack of incentives
    Under utilization of skilled employees
    Poor departmental relationships
Lack of general knowledge about telecommunications across the board
    Poor communication.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some type of incentives, anything, to employees willing to put in the hard work to support the company. Utilize those who show that they are high functioning and skilled employees better. Offer bonuses to employees annually, even Wal-mart employees receive bonuses, you have the money. Improve relations with other departments, instead of building more rivalries and animosity. Do not promote employees who can barely perform their existing job functions let alone give them large amounts of responsibility. Promote more employees internally instead of bringing people off the streets who have no experience to work above those who have years of it. Look closely into workflow issues, especially when one employee is essentially doing the work of three from different departments. Listen to your employees instead of invalidating them because it suits you. Look to improve vendor relations with carriers besides Verizon and AT&T. Hire more people with actual experience and education relevant to the industry or at least experience. Provide more opportunities to internal employees before hiring more employees or filling a position from outside. Provide better tools, I used a poorly functioning, ancient computer for nearly two years before getting a new one while other employees were getting corporate phones, laptops and iPads. Offer more assistance to employees who are obviously distressed with the state of their work environment. Put an end to the blatant nepotism. Provide clear and concise training to all employees across the board. Place more accountability to those who have a long history of mistakes instead of protecting them because they're tenured. Provide clear and concise job roles to everyone and ensure those in client services understand them, half of them can't even tell you what certain departments, giving false and unreal expectations to those who perform the work for the clients. Again, apply some feedback from your employees. Give people a reason to keep working there instead of a list of why they should quit.

I have been working at Tangoe part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    great people 5/5
    policies are decent 3/5

    Cons

    benefit is 2/5
want a pay increase? 0.5/5 chance
    culture is 2.5/5.
slow at adapting for such a small company, its sad.
keep looking even if you get the job, maybe you can get better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

listen to your employees because you are still a small company compared to the world or you will dive like your stocks.
Keep riding the way you do, everyone will keep using you like a used tamp...
    good luck

    I worked at Tangoe

    Pros

It beats flipping burgers . Not the best place to work but it's certainly not the worst. This line of work is ideal for someone with nothing more than a high school diploma or a few credits from a community college. This is a profession that just about anyone can do and do well.

    Cons

Management is very disrespectful and seems to have contempt for their employees. Sadly enough management creates the tone from the top. I found that many of my coworkers were back stabbers and disrespectful as well. People with options eventually see Tangoe for what it is and move on. The future 30 year employees are the people with no other options that are stuck there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do some extensive background and credit checks to help weed out all of the trash. You'd be surprised to find out how many of your employees claim to have degrees that they never actually completed and who has a criminal record.

I have been working at Tangoe full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There *are* some brilliant people and some interesting technical problems

    Cons

GAAP reporting show losses, so financials are pro-forma. The same constructively wishful thinking is applied to product deadlines, headcount, and the layout of cubicles not even worthy of the name.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You may be the Leader, but it creates a major cognitive dissonance thing to be told we don't have 10K for a new Oracle license but we can pay executives millions of dollars per year. Changing a mere underling's title to "senior mere underling" without a pay increase or even a new chair leads one to question her real value to the firm.

I have been working at Tangoe full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

At the moment, not a lot.

    Cons

Most of the experienced UK staff are leaving for better paid positions elsewhere. Management is a joke, with no overall vision or guidance. Directives come across from the US side of the business with little understanding of what is going on. No potential for career advancement. No Training available at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Look after your staff better.

    Pros

Work environment is good, flexible work hours and work from home option is there, Peoples are very co-operative. HR Policies are good and no variable pay in the CTC, which is good. some great team members and colleagues

    Cons

*Some departments wants developers with them but they don't know how to handle Developers.* Huge Salary Issue (compare to RND or Development Dept), * High expectations from developers but * improper hikes, *You cant learn any new technology, Work is not good,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Provide all same chances to grow and learn if they have same profile.
    * A successful company has happy employees, most of your employees are not happy!
    * I know this company is very good but problems are in some departments...
** Keep focus on the employee how spent 2 -3 years in the company and he know all the flow of the product... Try to keep him in company at any cost ... Bcoz he can do work more the 3 new Joinee, as new person will again take min 1 yrs to understand the flow at code level.

I worked at Tangoe full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

-Still feels like a start-up (but it really isn't, they have been going for over 13 years now)
-Because they have had so many people leave on them, they will be willing to give you decent/market pay, but nothing more than that.

    Cons

-IT manager is not reliable or consistent and seems to trivialize big problems -- one of the many reasons so many have left this company's IT department over the past few years. It seems like the IT manager is just biding his time for a promotion rather than going to bat for his department. A lot of denial and too many redbulls to focus on any one conversation for more than a minute.
-Outdated infrastructure, no budget. New best practices and network design proposals are shot down out of ignorance and unwillingness to invest in the necessary upgrades.
-Your daily work will be very mundane and painful as each data center/branch location is designed poorly and requires a significant amount of manual, time consuming, error-prone provisioning.
-CFO is not just the accountant, but also the IT leader (CIO) which means every expense is answered with "NO" -- you will be asked to make their next generation applications run on office depot bought gear instead of from a real network vendor.
-Benefits: Read the fine print, they aren't very competitive, especially healthcare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the consistently long list of IT professionals coming and going from this place -- IT leadership and infrastructure problems. There is a reason why you can't keep good people at this organization.

    Pros

some great team members and colleagues, all miserable and looking to leave

    Cons

management pretend to give you a good salary when in fact they expect you to work endless hours and you realise that actually you are being grossly underpaid on a p/h basis. Some very dishonest people are in top management.
