I worked at Target as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

If you want responsibility to prove your worth to a company, Target is the way to go. They have great training and actually put it to good use right away. They allow interns to make fairly large decisions with regards to day-to-day business operations. Great learning opportunity for college students with minimum leadership/management experience.

Culture is good. "Fast Fun and Friendly" is the motto around Target. Pay is great for an hourly intern. Lots of fun trips to visit distribution centers as well as other business units.

    Overall, great experience.

    Cons

It is retail, so you will be working weekends. Know that before getting into it and complaining.

I have been working at Target full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-provides amazing chances to learn, grow, and lead
-lots of personalities lead to lots of potential connections and friendships, and lots of chances to learn how to deal with people you don't necessarily connect with
-lots of opportunity to grow upward with company but you have to fight for it
    -go

    Cons

-not spoon fed anything, so must be very entrepreneurial
-pay kinda sucks as a team lead, but executives make pretty good money (granted you will not take more than 30 min of break time any given day of 9 hour+ shifts)
-be flexible with your work schedule, because you'll be there late or super early at least twice a week

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -recognize your TMs and TLs
-more feedback, especially if some one isnt seeking it directly
