I have been working at Target part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You meet great people, coworkers& guest. There's never nothing to do, & if you're like me.. That's GREAT! Forever moving and making things better.

    Cons

I think it all depends on management but at my store they made it difficult to have a flexible schedule . Also they do 3 weeks worth of schedule's which is good sometimes but then others it's not because well... Life happens

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to communicate with teammembers better . Work with them not against them . Have respect in order to get respect, don't think just cause you have a bigger title you can talk to teammates however you like. Remember without us you wouldn't have anything .

    I worked at Target

    Pros

Very flexible hours. Accommodating while searching for your career or while taking classes.

    Cons

Awful pay for what you have to put up with from customers. Hours suck, especially during holidays.

I worked at Target part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Friendly people
    Super clean environment
    Freebies

    Cons

    Terrible at changing shedule
Cut your hours severely in non-seasonal months (15 hours max)
Let me go after seasonal employment ended because they could only keep a few people and then put up "now-hiring" ads online less then 24 hours later. Me and my fellow employees that were laid off because of seasonal employment were livid

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get better red card system. They make it really difficult to get red cards. Come up with a look-up and an easier debit card application. NO ONE WANTS A CREDIT CARD.

The managers are nice at first, but if you're seasonal they'll change on you once you're about to leave.

I worked at Target part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of encouragement from managers. Lots of variety/stuff to do so you are never really bored. Many different positions, some friendly supervisors.

    Cons

Late hours, low wage. Part-time does not receive any benefits at all, besides the really tiny 10% off of merchandise when you use cash to pay.

I have been working at Target

    Pros

Target was a great place to work for they really valued their employees. It was easy to move up if you worked diligently and they liked you.

    Cons

Being retail the scheduling wasn't always ideal. Also the pay wasn't that great. I was asked to do work the higher ups were responsible for without and up in pay

    Pros

Nice company. cares about its workers you can grow here. At the end of the day its only target though.

    Cons

Management is super childish. They constantly get involved in drama. 90 day probation period is the dumbest thing ever. I don't know its easy to get tired of.

    I worked at Target

    Pros

Working there gives you a good idea of the basic in retail and customer service. The store I worked at had also really great co-workers and it was a really goof vibe.

    Cons

The raises are worthless, and the hours are a pain if you have another job or you're in school. The management can come off at times as some what rude and disrespectful as well, but its not always all of them and I feel you can run into that anywhere you work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider employee's efforts more and try to show a bit more appreciation to them if they would like to try and switch work areas or interview for a better position.

I worked at Target part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The employees are friendly, and work schedule is flexible if your looking for flexibility. The time is reasonable and you were off on Sundays.

    Cons

The management team is not the best to work with, there is too much nepotism. Favoritism is a highly used tool to determine where personnel are promoted and not by the capabilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to listen to your employees. Manager are not always correct in their handling of most issues that they deal with. Encouraging workers to strive for other positions or help in advancement is practically non-existent if the person if not like or flexible to the will of the management team.
