I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been at Target for about a month and I absolutely love it! I work Flow so 430-930 but they always ask me to stay later and give me full time hours. Majority of my coworkers are people who raise a family off of this Job and I can see why. This isn't for the faint of heart though, it's tough work, but worth it if you are a hard worker. If you work hard enough and really get your stuff down, my store will give you a raise, one of my coworkers hasn't been there a year yet and has had three raises so far.

    Cons

A downside of working my position is that you don't really have time to talk to people. Even when the store opens customers usually steer clear even though you'll have to help a few people find things every nw and then you don't really get to talk to anyone.

  6. It's an okay job for someone starting out, but depending on your manager there is not much room for advancement.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Met a lot of great people and learned a lot of information about retail that has helped me at other jobs, while working at Target.

    Cons

Whenever I would ask to train in different areas, i was always given an excuse as to why it couldn't happen. Management can sometimes be a hassle to deal with.

    Advice to Management

Don't promote someone who didn't want to be promoted to the position in the first place. They end up not wanting to do their job and making someone else do it without the pay raise.

I have been working at Target (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Target offers a friendly work environment. Many off their pharmacies are low volume. Excellent customer service is a must. Most pharmacists are easy to work with.

    Cons

Low volume often means low hours.CVS/Health merger may have an impact on this. So far the only information I have heard is that Target Pharmacy employees will work for CVS and not be allowed to work in other parts of the store.

    Advice to Management

With so many manager positions at target, it is important to maintain effective communication. As a team member of a smaller work center I often felt I fell through the cracks. I was not invited to most huddles and a lot of business news isn't shared.
