    Pros

Great training program, learn a ton about running a business and operations. Overall a great culture with the company. Employee recognition is great. Community service is very important with the company too.

    Cons

Work/Life balance- is very difficult. You are expected to live at the store.

    Advice to Management

    Improve work/life balance- hire more.

    Pros

Great benefits and some great people. Pay was really good for requiring nothing more than a high school diploma. Some unique schedule options and overtime opportunities at certain points in the year.

    Cons

Little to none promoting from within and everything comes with a very top down approach. This leads to many senseless decisions being made by individuals not actively apart of what they are deciding on. Additionally, to have doubts or question the ideas of another is to 'be negative.' This leads to a culture of basically throw things at a problem time and time again until something sticks..... very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Just because someone is in a position below does not automatically make your ideas better than theirs. Listen to and support those around you.

    Pros

When you have a good manager, the job can be hard work, but manageable. Especially when the manager works with the team and helps to further a career at Target if wanted.

    Cons

If a manager was bad, the job could be incredibly difficult. They won't listen to any thing you have to say, or take advice from people who have been there longer. Some will expect you to do their job for them, with no incentive.

    Advice to Management

Watch your Flow Team Leads, make sure they're not trying to push their work off on a regular worker.

    Pros

After almost a decade with the company I have seen a lot of changes. The best change so far has been Brian Cornell taking over as CEO. The people at my store that have been there forever are like family to me.

    Cons

Pay sucks... In 9 years I've gone from $7/hr to $14/hr. Everyone that is above me in my store is pretty much incompetent. Targets thing is to hire dumb, just out of college girls and pay them lots of money just for them to gossip and text on their phones all day instead of helping the team put.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring anyone with a 4 year degree. Hire people that actually might know what they are doing. And stop pushing redcards.

    Pros

Easy technology to work with. People are great. Diversity in hiring.

    Cons

    Too much emphasis on REDcards.

    Advice to Management

Stop peddling REDcards, it gets annoying to the customers.

    Pros

nice people to work with, i liked working in electronics. I played music on the stereos during my shifts. no one seemed to care.

    Cons

Working for long hours was a pain sometimes. Since they're open pretty late closing shifts were not something to look forward to.

    Advice to Management

Be more available on the sales floor. I would spend a lot of time by myself in electronics and it would get very boring, especially when the business was slow late in the evening.
