    Pros

You honestly never know what you'll be attending that day, or who you'll be meeting. From state senators and governors, to the board of regents. It's a great place to start getting a head start in the professional world and teaches you wonderful work etiquette. The overall sense of family on campus goes without compare.

    Cons

The distance from major cities is a little far. Salaries seem a little low as well.

I have been working at Tarleton State University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You really can't get fired & vacation/holidays are great.

    Cons

I loved my job until people began to get shuffled around and 'put' in areas that allowed upper management to accomplish their goals. You will not get promoted, more money, or help no matter how much you deserve or need it. It has become so corrupt that everyone is leaving.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Match staff to students. Hire help to get the job done & actually pay employees enough to survive. Stop hiring 'friends' and making everyone suffer because they aren't qualified.

I worked at Tarleton State University part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere, no "big brother" monitoring like some state agencies, no drug test, do your work right and get treated with respect. Most departments are friendly and helpful.

    Cons

Not all departments are friendly and helpful, bathrooms are usually filthy from students, hours are limited for student workers, some questionable choices in which holidays are off days, and parking is horrific.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Having all major holidays off would be a plus. Better parking.
