Fantastic company to work for - big enough for opportunity, small enough to make a difference

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Wolverhampton, England (UK)

ProsGreat people - much higher quality of people in the company than a decade ago
Excellent car scheme, pensions, 25 days holiday, bonus
Work hard but not expected to work silly hours. Work/life balance is respected

ConsSome parts of the company operate a command and control type structure
Lots of change in the organisation which might not suit everyone

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is still lots of opportunity to build on the great foundation you have. It's a great company but it could be even better. Keep learning and improving and don't be afraid to steal good ideas from other industries and companies

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Excellent company to work for

Estimator (Former Employee) Leeds, England (UK)

ProsStaff work well together, management very good at maximising staff potential (in most offices) and excellent packages available for staff (very good pension scheme in particular)!

ConsChanges following the joint venture unfortunately led to my leaving the company but I would be back in a heart beat if the right job vacancy arose

Good employer, great people, salary is below market rate.

    Human Resources (Current Employee)

ProsRelaxed atmosphere, great people to work with and generally little pressure in the job providing you are meeting expectations and are able to positively contribute to the companies ambition.

ConsSalaries are on the low side and potentially below market rate but on the other hand the pressure is perhaps lower than other companies. Generally no real cons.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

If you enjoy pointing out problems but have no intention on fixing them, this is the job for you

    Sales (Former Employee)

ProsEasy work load. Relaxed work environment.

ConsPoor communication with management. No opportunity for non-managers to have input. Too much acting without thinking.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry bouncing ideas off people who work in the field. If you notice a problem, address it and work to fix it.........don't just cry about it.
Stop complaining to your subordinates......it's not professional.
