    I worked at Tata Business Support Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good culture, and the location is great. The CEO and COO are great guys but the Accounting department is run by cut throat people who just look at saving a nickel.

    Cons

    Growth is so fast that there is not enough office space. Company hires too many low end support people. A few managers are very unprofessional. Favoritism is very evident. It's a 24/7 operation so the emails and phone calls don't stop. Installers are overworked and stressed out. 12-14 hr days are common for installers, but the managers come and go in the office and are nowhere to be found 25% of the time during normal working hours. I was hired as a salary employee and got nothing for working 10-15 hrs extra a week, but if I had a doctor appt., I was docked personal comp time.

    Advice to Management

    Keeping salaries very low will just keep the revolving door spinning.

    Pros

    Strong bond with co-workers because we were all in the same miserable boat.

    Cons

    Reverse out-sourcing=terrible idea. Pay was terrible, benefits were terrible.

    Pros

    Vacation time 4 wks at start.

    Cons

    The right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing. Company is fron India and have no idea how to treat their employees. Terrible turn over and they wouldn't listen to why people were leaving. Every thing was about business needs. We had a contract with Egencia and TATA managment was constantly lying to them causing the loss of the contract and over 150 people lost their jobs.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees like they are a valuable asset not just a number in a chair tied to a teliphone by a short cord. Provide feed back and reward good performance.

    Pros

    Great firm to work at. The environment is great and great opportunities to further advance in your career. Loved the cafeteria and wifi services at disposal. Free coffee and free meals at times too.

    Cons

    None really. The seniors felt a little harsh at times. Its all the same everywhere though politically speaking. Cant find any other reasonable cons. All in all a great company to work at.

    Employee engagement activities that happen weekly

    Cons

    Corporate HR department is a lethargic function Appraisal system is the worst!!! They give good ratings to people who talk back. Work quality doesn't matter. They simply blame the BELL CURVE for the rating !!! No salary bands, even a deputy manager earns less than a senior executive No motivation in terms work, vision and perks Bad office environment... Smelly, sounds Internal Job Posting system is a cheating stuff. No hikes even after designation and grade change Designation based treatment all over The performance pay repayment is dependent on company performance as well The HR and management doesn't care about attrition in corporate office/support functions

    Advice to Management

    Introduce a salary band system based on qualification, experience and designation Change the age old HR in corporate Track the appraisal system closely
