ProsThe Company policy enables great security for every individual. Full freedom in workplace. The company provides equal opportunity in terms choosing project and role.

ConsBiggest challenge in this company is unrealistic performance evaluation, which further enables Managers to own the company and steal the opportunity & reputation of associates.

    Average company for average folks

Assistant Consultant (Former Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsTCS , being a huge company, lets you do as much or as little work as you want / can get away with. Effort and result are not directly proportional always but due to the large nature of most accounts, very bad cases of preferential treatment or nepotism are not common. There are still a few good men out there. The very senior mgmt is inspirational and their old school values cannot be faulted.

ConsTCS is a very middle-of-the-road company populated by somewhat petty, average minds. Not that it's a bad thing, because the huge majority of IT work done by the subcontinent's contractors is just that - average. Appraisals suck royally and lead to an exodus of competent people from the project and the company around the time ratings are announced. Compensation is not the best, but quite commensurate to the work. Personal growth depends largely on being at the right place at the right time or striking roots at an up and coming large account and tolerating several stints of boring work in the earlier years.

Advice to Senior ManagementI've been gone a long time but did anybody ultimately uphaul the in house project mgmt system Ux? The interface and speed were nightmares. It used to terrify us to fill timesheets at the end of the day - a 5 minute task took an hour and buses were missed.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Not one of he best

Technical Consultant (Current Employee) Atlanta, GA

ProsNice work environment and lots of clients. Diverse projects and skills to choose from. You have a huge backdrop of resources who can help you/replace you in case of issues.

ConsCons are many. Saw someone saying the company cares. I would say "NO". The healthcare benefits in the US sucks. There is a high copay you have to bear every time you visit a clinic /hospital and bills do arrive afterwards one by one. I have been with the company for 6 years and the performance review process is an absolute eyewash. Leaders are incompetent and salary is way lesser than any other consultancy you can find. Career benefits are very rare. If you can compromise your family or career, then its a great place to work. you are a "Resource" and not an employee. Met Mr.Chandra in a meeting and asked about employee welfare regarding an issue and the answer was the resource must speak to the right parties about it and he can't help. That's the CEO of the company. You will be paid 30 - 40% of what they bill you for.

Advice to Senior ManagementThough you recruit people in hoards, please do pay attention to the employees rather than showing a profit margin of 30% and above every QoQ. The review process has to be fair and hard workers have to be recognised from the rest. Management needs to really identify a persons ability and help in his career inline with clients.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
