Less pay.
Advice to Senior Management
Please have professional attitude.
Pros
Exceptional opportunity to learn many things
Cons
poor salary , employee support, benefits
Advice to Senior Management
Be brave , dont beg , have dignity of work and support employee concerns...clinet can be god but employees are atleast human
Pros
The work is not so demanding and it is always easy to get some time to familiarize with the work content. In general it's good for freshers.
Cons
No interesting work available. Nothing engineering or innovative ever gets done in TCS. Honestly I do not know why they hire engineers.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase the pay package. The competitors just offer far better in terms of work, pay and benefits. Most people look for a change after a year or two.
Pros
you can learn technology in earlier stages of your career
Cons
no promotions for senior employees
Advice to Senior Management
fair treatment
Pros
Is a Good Brand
Can be a Good launchpad, but not to stay for long
Has Various locations through India
Cons
No focus on work life balance,
Politics and favoritism rampant,
Poor middle level management,
Appraisal system really sucks -is totally unfair
Advice to Senior Management
None, Be ethical and honest in communicating truth to your employees / keep an eye on your junior level management
Pros
A good place to not accomplish much
Will allow work from home in some cases
no waiting period on mediocre benefits
Cons
no career growth
managers who don't know the domain they manage
very very poor communication between
all internal systems are very poorly architected and designed and waits hours every week on remedial daily tasks.
no clear direction from senior leadership
low compensation compared to other local tech companies
extremely slow to reimburse business expenses
no budget for training or skill enhancement
out-of-date software requirements to use their internal systems.
Advice to Senior Management
Manage domains you're familiar with... Duh!
provide clear visions of what the company's objectives are then communicate that to the workforce. Respect your workforce and provide them with the tools & training they need to succeed
catch up with the rest of the world if you're going to be a technology company
Pros
If and only if you get into a cool project
there is good work - life balance
and job security for those who do not know anything about anything
Cons
If you be with a client who knows the value of it's money (most of them know) then your life is screwed. 12 hrs min work per day even on weekends (same in my proj)
Whatever Client say management will accept (actually there is no management only clients control everything even your leaves)
People who do not do anything are higher in rank and get more salary and appriciation
Advice to Senior Management
Please respect employees (We all know you have loads of them)
Pros
Though there is a constraint at an organisation level as the work is on offer only if its available within the company ,There is freedom to choose the kind of work you would like to do. The employee support system is good where HR is accessible and management is also interested in retaining good employees and provide opportunities for talented people.
Cons
The organisation has grown a lot over the last couple of years and this has lead to a reorg at some levels which does not allow for effective access to the support groups like technology excellence groups.
Advice to Senior Management
It would be great to continue a culture where talent is encouraged .
Pros
Job security
Pride of being associated with a giant corporate house
Global exposure
Cons
Bureaucratic culture because of size of organization
Limited opportunities for accelerated growth
Pay levels below market standards
Pros
It still has the best environment, compared with those in other IT services bigwigs in India, except the likes of IBM, Sasken and Ness, which are even better. If you have the right chemistry with your boss, the Software Engineering excellence of the TCS universe opens up to you.
Cons
You can get lost in the ocean of TCS - this can happen as a rookie as well as a veteran - unless you have a real mentor (which is extremely rare). True innovation and creativity are unimportant to the management unless you are somebody's somebody, and this covers all organisational functions.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn leading. Stop managing. If you can't do that, prevent others from saying you're part of the leadership team.
