Pros
Variety in opportunities available within the company. Lot of departments to pursue your career. You just have to plan/execute it right.
Cons
Sometimes one might get lost because of the volume of the organisation. You might have to help yourself in planning your career path.
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
good place to work... if u dnt want to work...
if u want the feeling of a secure govt. job
Cons
-RMG are worst in the industry
-promotions are slow
-management is bad
-slow growth
-lack of challenging work
everything depends entirely on ur luck and project actually
Advice to Senior Management
nothing to say...
Pros
1. Great exposure in terms of quality of clients across sectors
2. Early leadership opportunities
3. Freedom of decision making
4. Onsite opportunity
Cons
1. Low salary as compared to industry
2.Less focus on grooming middle management
Advice to Senior Management
1. Focus more on grooming middle managers in leadership skills
2. Make promotion and appraisal more transparent
3.Introduce 360 degree appraisal
Pros
Brand Name of Tata Consultancy Services. Prestigious clients. Office locations in multiple cities around the world. Largest Software firm in Asia.
Cons
Not so good team management. Employees are forced to take up projects they do not wish to be in. The senior management does care much about the junior level software developers.
Pros
Work life balance, onsite oppurtunities
Cons
poor middle mgmt
once in one project you cannot get released
Advice to Senior Management
make sure middle mgmt is capable
Pros
Strong focus on skills & development.
Average Salary structure , sometime lags the industry
great people to work with
Opportunities to make a difference are there for the taking.
Cons
Slow rotation policy , felt it could move a bit faster.
Need to give more to the GCP to move up the value chain.
Advice to Senior Management
Great work , was proud to work there and opportunities were there for the taking.
Salary & Compensation lags the industry and onsite rotation needs to be enforced.
Pros
They train you well
Working in Mumbai location better than any other location of TCS
No pressure initially
Cons
Stagnant growth
Low salary hikes
Trainees are allocated projects randomly so its your luck whether you are in a good project or not
Advice to Senior Management
The upper management is good but the project managers not that competent and the quality of work is not depending on your ability to work so decrease the randomness in awarding trainee a project
Pros
Good culture and growth opportunity. Relaxed work atmosphere and good for balancing personal and professional life. Good options to rise in the management ladder.
Long term onsite assignments (2-6 years) are a norm.
Cons
Not the best pay package provider. If you are a dedicated and exceptional performer, this may not be the company for you. You might just end up being paid marginally higher than your peers anyway.
The middle tier of management is total junk (they spend 90% of their time with timesheet tracking, bill invoice generation and red tapism) as all most of the best resources leave before that phase.
Pros
good consulting exposure through some good clients
Cons
need to build industry expertise in chosen sectors
Advice to Senior Management
build competence in specific sectors
Pros
Good work life balance
Good working atmosphere
A great breadth of projects
Great CSR + Employee satisfaction
Cons
Average compensation
Difficulty in changing projects
Advice to Senior Management
You are the best!
