Pros
Good work life balance.
Good work environment.
Cons
Growth opportunities are less.
Project allocation are on random basis
Advice to Senior Management
Proper allocation of resources as per their skillset.
Pros
- Lot of learning opportunities
- Lot of learning resources available
- If you are willing to can get more responsibilities
Cons
- Do no gives good package, you must bargain while joining
- You should be good in politics to get onsite opportunities and stay there
- No other benefits other than your package
- Appraisals are not transparent
Advice to Senior Management
Please offer good compensation and provide other facilities to employees like transport which are available to only few employees. Also bring more transparency in appraisals.
Pros
Salary is good.
Job security.
Government style job so job hours are not a problem
Cons
Resource management and project management has no respect towards employees especially lateral joiners.
Experienced professionals are billed for freshers role and responsibilities.
Inconsistent mapping of technical skills, experience into projects.
When you try to discuss this their attitude is like so what if you have experience you have to do this work.
Highly bureaucratic structure , horrible politics,
To get opportunities make sure your are in very good books of managers else forget it.
HR should be renamed as team to please managers.
Managers and resource manager is always CORRECT and you are always wrong...don't try to argue with them...it's hopeless...
Horrible Transport
Advice to Senior Management
Yours is the most bureaucratic government style organization.
Majority of the experienced professionals are technically horrible due to the kind of projects they work in,
You bill experienced professionals for freshers role.....
Your project managers and resource managers treat laterals like thrash.. disrespect them like anything.....please share the business trick that continues to make you Top IT company in India.
Pros
Amazing knowledge sharing facilities, awesome customer delivery processes
Cons
Very competitive environment in terms of employee reviews
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
The work is not so demanding and it is always easy to get some time to familiarize with the work content. In general it's good for freshers.
Cons
No interesting work available. Nothing engineering or innovative ever gets done in TCS. Honestly I do not know why they hire engineers.
Advice to Senior Management
Increase the pay package. The competitors just offer far better in terms of work, pay and benefits. Most people look for a change after a year or two.
Pros
Job security
Pride of being associated with a giant corporate house
Global exposure
Cons
Bureaucratic culture because of size of organization
Limited opportunities for accelerated growth
Pay levels below market standards
Pros
It still has the best environment, compared with those in other IT services bigwigs in India, except the likes of IBM, Sasken and Ness, which are even better. If you have the right chemistry with your boss, the Software Engineering excellence of the TCS universe opens up to you.
Cons
You can get lost in the ocean of TCS - this can happen as a rookie as well as a veteran - unless you have a real mentor (which is extremely rare). True innovation and creativity are unimportant to the management unless you are somebody's somebody, and this covers all organisational functions.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn leading. Stop managing. If you can't do that, prevent others from saying you're part of the leadership team.
Pros
Biggest Software firm in India
Lot of projects
Cons
Lack of recognition
Lack of professionalism
Advice to Senior Management
Be equipped to see the future requirements
Pros
Flexible work hours, can balance both professional and social life,
Cons
Salary not ok, the nature of work does not require very genius candidates for certain projects.. so finally the project in which you work decides your career..
Advice to Senior Management
Salary should be decent.. atleast for those who work longer with tcs
Pros
- Open Structure, u can challenge your boss and live to see another day
- Free room for thought.
- new ideas appreciated.
- You can get away with it, if you are not interested in working
- If you can dream, deliver then no one stops you. Its your baby..
Cons
- Compensation not market standards
- Promotions not by merit but Seniority, however worthless the person is
- Lot of senior people sitting around doing nothing.
Advice to Senior Management
Clear communication. A lot of talent will leave, if you don't know how to separate grain from chaff....
