    Pros

Challenging opportunities and provides training even when you are on projects. Highly process oriented which is exepected of a company of this size

I have been working at Tata Consultancy Services (North America)

    Pros

Mostly leave you alone to do your job. H1b consultants are friendly but not very competent.

    Cons

HIghly bureaucratic and inefficient. Administrative services fails to support field operations. Uses outdated technology that is poorly designed and cumbersome to use. No opportunity for growth. Literally no support for travel except airline tickets. Everything else you are on your own. However they have ridiculously low travel expense guidelines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is not India. You may be able to completely disregard your employees in Mumbia but that attitude only leads to high turnover in the US. Also, you need to start holding people accountable especially in the administrative services areas. Finance AP, HR and IT are a disaster. The technology you use is an embarrassment especially for a company that want's to present itself to clients as a technology solutions company.

I worked at Tata Consultancy Services (North America) full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing, zero, zilch, nada, can't think of anything. Only adding text for the site. Nothing nice to say at all.

    Cons

Age discrimination, lousy personnel practices, pushy with customers, will chew you up and spit you out. I got partnered with someone who they don't like but don't know how to deal with. I got put on a project that nobody wanted to be on. They didn't tell me about the project when they were recruiting me. That was deceptive. My partner didn't want to be on this project. The customer had to hire additional resources because TCS would not add people. All things considered, I feel used and treated very badly.

I worked at Tata Consultancy Services (North America) full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

no pros noted at all - terrible company to work for. Management is rude and underhanded. No sense of fairness. Treated like 2nd class citizens once I became TATA employee.

    Cons

They are unfair in their business practices. No concept of common sense. The company is unorganized in North America and employee ratings are spread between the American and Indian counterparts, with the company only giving very limited superior performance evaluations - and those superior evaluations always going to India. Terrible company to work for

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to develop all employees, not just the golden child. Go back to India and stop reaching into America's economic infrastructure. You aren't good at it.
