    I worked at Tata Motors

    Pros

Since it's an indian company, everything is done in India from scratch. So the exposure and learning here are tremendous. A lot of autonomy is given to employees to make decisions and try different ways of executing the work. Young talent is encouraged and given good opportunities.
    Good talent management programs

    Cons

Salaries are poor. Yearly increment and bonuses are very poor.
Lack of clarity in decision making by the mid-management and top management
    Too much politics
Poor performance in market against competition is a demotivator
R&D and project management is spoilt by old style of commercial vehicle attitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop experimenting so much on so many fronts. Take a firm decision and stick to it.

I have been working at Tata Motors full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

1 Certain policies are well written to protect from harassment, specially helpful for female employees

2 Can get a good work life balance (if your manager himself is allowing you to maintain the same else be ready to work for his benefit )

    Cons

    1) Gone are days when TATA group was considered to care for its employees, wind of change is blowing and its nothing more than a private company now

    2) rule of 80/20 works . 80% people ( Lateral ) works for 20% ( who join as GET/PGETS/MTs ) and the later actually get benefited and make steep career progress due to there goodwill with alike seniors in higher position

    3) Totally confused top management lots of initiatives ending up with frustrated Jr management level

    4) Trainings are pathetic irrelevant and focussed on organisation goals not employee skill development ( with compare to trainings I Received in an German Car Brand )

    5) Performance measurement system is purely subjective and depends on the Appraiser and Reviewer's goodwill you have , generally being used as a tool for punishing the employees who don't have the same no matter how hard/sincerely they worked . Goals being set are conflicting like you have to go east and west at the same time ( hope u can understand ) if u go east you cant go west so your rating depends on your manager at the time of final review .

    6) Cost cutting is huge . maintenance of office amenities are very poor, Back end support by management is worst .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider Discussing to have a healthy and employee centred policies and systems

I have been working at Tata Motors full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Great place to learn automobile engineering right from design, engineering development and production all at one place.
    2. Good salary if you are a campus recruit especially

    Cons

    1. Bureaucratic red tape. Things work very slowly.
    2. Quality is not given top priority, not even second priority.
    3. Slow growth, subjective evaluation of performance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs a way in which data from one department flows and is available to others in a systematic way. right only drawing has a system, no other data. getting data is dependent on people's whims and fancies.
HR policy of sandwiching leaves is of dinosaur age.Reward hard work, not people who are in good books of bosses.

I have been working at Tata Motors full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company offers decent career opportunities with schemes such as FTSS. Learning is very good especially for fresh engineering graduates. The best part however is a great work life balance which the organization offers..

    Cons

Compensation is extremely low especially for management post-graduates. The overall culture is highly bureaucratic similar to a state govt. department. Also, too many changes at the senior management level have had adverse effect throughout the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need some consistency in decision making at the top
