I have been working at Tattoo Manufacturing full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It was a fun place to work, the employees are great people.

    Cons

Because of infighting with the Board, there has been frequent and rapid changes at the top levels, the company is being torn apart and is losing money for the first time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop trying to undercut each other and allow the company to grow.

I have been working at Tattoo Manufacturing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Health benefits and 401 K.

    Cons

Low salaries, and no work/life balance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO of the company to pay close attention to Savvi division management. There are issues of non-professionalism there and a lot of mistakes.

One of the Worst Working Environments in Tucson - Do Not Work Here

I worked at Tattoo Manufacturing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It's a job with a paycheck. Large enough that you may be able to hide from the internal warfare between management.

    Cons

There is a ridiculous "Cultural Contract" posted throughout the facility and all of the tenets have been violated by the various management individuals, including the former CEO, who ran this place. rumor has it the board forced him out because of his behavior. Employees live in fear, triangulation is epidemic, nepotism is as well and there is sexual harassment training; but such harassment was endemic by certain senior management. This company is on the way down. Turnover amongst mid-management high. Blue-collar employees treated extremely poorly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company places no value on it's employees. That's probably due to the personalities that have run it along with the venture capital-oriented ownership. It's a classic example of corporate double-speak.

I have been working at Tattoo Manufacturing

    Pros

In Tucson, a job is a job, but this is not the place to spend your working hours. Location OK, free parking and some benifits.

    Cons

Really poor and inexperienced management and supervision at all levels. Former owners relative runs rough shod over all areas. Senior management is not involved or effective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate all supervision and management, reduce amount by 25% and replace all current management with people management with proper training. Basically, start over with some quality hands on management.

    I worked at Tattoo Manufacturing

    Pros

location, being in Tucson area and one of few employers that hires, usually due to high turnover or firing of current employees.

    Cons

No opportunity, too much supervision that does little to nothing same goes for the so called President and CEO of the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some professionalism and supervision with some professional training, treat people with some respect, quit bad mouthing employees behind their backs.

I have been working at Tattoo Manufacturing

    Pros

Tucson business, casual dress code, many co-workers friendly, close to freeway. PC and Apple equipment somewhat current as well as software.

    Cons

No creative freedom or ability to express new ideas. All level of managers just doing what will keep them out of trouble..... survival mentality. People treatment and management deplorable.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

House clean- Get rid of all supervision from CEO through Management and replace with professionals with some experience and talent. Several Management in past had vision, but anyone with some real forward thoughts, ideas or vision are quickly eliminated... retaining the remaining family memeber in management just made things worse, hands off Senior Management add nothing to the mix.

    I worked at Tattoo Manufacturing

    Pros

Location is somewhat central and close to freeways, starting compensation is adequate. Co workers are fun and friendly, willing to help.

    Cons

Caustic work environment, no merit reviews or salary increases with the new ownership and the new President. Past owners and President took care of employees with respect, current owners and President are unprofessional and opportunistic.

Communication poor, decision making takes for ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire current President (Steve Tooker) and a couple other middle Managers (called VPs) and hire some professional management.

    Past leadership was much better.

    I worked at Tattoo Manufacturing

    Pros

Well, it's work, and times are tough. And the freebies are pretty good (who would turn down free tattoos?), the co workers are friendly, and the parking is free.

    Cons

The pay stinks, the building is pretty grim (even for a manufacturing plant), the turnover rate is high, the drive is long (no matter where in Tucson you live). And the job security? Well, it's not like CHINA can't manufacture temporary tattoos. If you come to work here, expect your job to be short lived as this industry will be one of the first to go down with the New Economy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try not to mix your personal opinions with your management decisions.

I have been working at Tattoo Manufacturing

    Pros

Co-workers are very friendly and the culture is accepting and fun. Great benefits and room for advancement within the company. The company was awarded "Best Place to Work" in 2010 in the Wells Fargo Copper Cactus awards and was named a "Best Place to Work" by an industry association.

    Cons

The facility is older and the building is located in an industrial part of town. Makes sense, considering it is also a manufacturing facility (printing temporary tattoos).
